Having been quiet on the subject of a goalkeeper all summer, Arsene Wenger is about to launch an audacious bid of up to £25 million for Liverpool's Pepe Reina.

Wenger had reportedly been eyeing a move for Fulham's Mark Schwarzer but the chance of landing the Spain international is far more appealing.
