Jack Grealish: Manchester City make £100m offer for Aston Villa star, according to transfer reports

Jack Grealish would become the most expensive signing in Premier League history if Manchester City's reported £100 million offer is accepted by Aston Villa. Grealish has made 185 league appearances for Villa, helping them regain promotion to the Premier Leauge and becoming one of the division's most dangerous attacking players.

Manchester City have submitted a £100 million offer to Aston Villa for Jack Grealish, according to reports.
The huge transfer bid would make Grealish the most expensive signing in Premier League history if it goes through, but Pep Guardiola is believed to see the 25-year-old as worth it, and an ideal fit to improve the defending champions further.
The report, by John Percy in the Telegraph, claims that City are hopeful of coming to an agreement within a week, with Grealish set to return to Aston Villa training on Monday.
The details of the offer are believed to involve a significant wage increase for Villa captain Grealish, who is reported to be on £125,000-per-week at the Midlands club.
City have been heavily linked with a £100m+ bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer, but Friday's report suggests Grealish is Guardiola's top transfer target.

Grealish was part of the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020 and came off the bench to play a key role in both of England's goals in the round-of-16 win over Germany.
The playmaker was also introduced as a substitute in the semi-final against Denmark and final against Italy. Grealish was not amongst the initial five penalty takers as England lost in a shootout in the final, with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka missing from the spot.
But the 25-year-old defended himself against critics who claimed he shirked the responsibility.
"I said I wanted to take one!" Grealish tweeted after the match.
"The gaffer has made so many right decisions through this tournament and he did tonight! But I won’t have people say that I didn’t want to take a peno when I said I will."

Speaking back in October 2019, Manchester City manager Guardiola revealed that he was already a big fan of Grealish's creative qualities.
"He’s incredible. A top player," Guardiola said following a win over recently-promoted Villa.
"I’m happy he stayed in the Championship to defend his club when he could have gone.
"He’s a talented player who always creates something. [Grealish] is an exceptional player but too expensive for Manchester!"
However, two years on and Grealish is no longer seen as too expensive for City if the bid reports are to be believed.
Only Harry Kane, Bruno Fernandes and Kevin de Bruyne contributed more assists in the Premier League than Grealish last season, and the Villa skipper was the most fouled player in the division in each of the past two seasons.
