Manchester United will offer David de Gea a testimonial in order to bump up the value of their contract offer, while City could give Ilkay Gundogan two more years at the club to keep him. Elsewhere, Harry Kane might leave Tottenham on a free transfer as Daniel Levy hopes he does not join a Premier League club, and West Ham players may be punished for the Europa Conference League melee.

United prepare special offer for De Gea

The Sun reports that Manchester United may try to tempt David de Gea into signing up to a deal that would see him lose around half his salary.
To make up for the shortfall, he could be offered a testimonial, which would earn him a large one-off sum.
“David de Gea could be offered the carrot of a money-spinning testimonial if he agrees to take a pay cut,” the paper explains.
“The Manchester United keeper has a new deal on the table, which would see his present £375,000-a-week basic salary drop by nearly 50 per cent.
“De Gea, 32, is out of contract next summer and wants to stay at Old Trafford but so far talks over fresh terms have stalled.
“United boss Erik ten Hag has given his public backing to the Spaniard, although it is understood concerns remain from the player’s camp that he may not be No.1 next season
“It's thought United have sent scouts to watch Porto stopper Diogo Costa.
“And the Red Devils are reportedly interested in Everton's England No. 1 Jordan Pickford.
"Brentford's David Raya has also been mentioned, although incoming Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is favourite to lure the Spaniard.”

City ready to offer Gundogan fresh terms

The Mirror believes that Manchester City may make a compromise offer to keep Ilkay Gundogan at the club.
With his contract running down, City are prepared to offer a year-long deal with another year included as an option.
The paper writes: “Manchester City are ready to hand Ilkay Gundogan a two-year deal to warn off interest from Barcelona.
“The German's deal is winding down and there had been fears he would quit the Etihad and seek pastures new. Negotiations had hit a wall with City seemingly unwilling to offer the midfielder more than a 12-month extension, but now a U-turn has been made by the champions.
“They are ready to offer a one-year extension with the option of a further 12 months, which could tempt Gundogan into staying, although no decision has yet been made. The former Borussia Dortmund man remains an integral figure in the blue half of Manchester and would be a massive loss.”

Kane prepared to leave for nothing

The Daily Mail believes that Harry Kane is willing to leave Tottenham on a free transfer, and Daniel Levy does not want to sell to another Premier League side.
However, it will take £100 million to land the forward.
“Harry Kane is open to seeing out his current Tottenham deal and departing the club on a free transfer next summer,” the story claims.
“The England captain is entering into the final 12 months of a six-year deal he signed back in 2018 and there is an increasing feeling that he will not sign up to fresh terms in north London.
“Speculation surrounding his future is mounting ahead of what is set to be a crucial summer for both club and player.
“Mail Sport reported that Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman, will not sell him to an English rival, though indirect negotiations have begun in earnest.
“Were they to sell Kane this summer, in particular to an English rival, they would expect to fetch a fee somewhere close to £100million.”

UEFA under pressure to delay West Ham punishments

UEFA may be tempted to wait on giving out any punishment to West Ham’s players for their part in crowd trouble at AZ Alkmaar.
The governing body could delay any punishment in order to prevent their actions keeping them out of the final.
The paper writes: “The West Ham United players who jumped into the stands on Thursday night to protect their families from AZ Alkmaar thugs look likely to face an UEFA charge, with the governing body now under pressure over timing.
“The silence from UEFA over the issue on Friday suggests that officials may allow the process to run past the date of the Europa Conference League final on June 7, when West Ham play Fiorentina at the Fortuna Arena in Prague.
“Declan Rice, Said Benrahma, Flynn Downes and Michail Antonio could all face bans from UEFA competition unless they could persuade a commission these were exceptional circumstances.
“It is highly unlikely that UEFA would want the players to be banned for the final, but officials will also feel that they have to follow the process. AZ Alkmaar will be charged for the behaviour of their supporters.”
