Inter Miami want to sign Angel Di Maria and could add Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets to that list, while Manchester United's future is not certain despite a potential sale going ahead. Elsewhere, Newcastle United are the latest club to track Alex Scott, and Montpellier striker Elye Wahi could be a potential replacement for Harry Kane at Tottenham.

MLS side chase Messi and more

The Mail reports that Inter Miami in MLS are looking to add three veteran superstars to their line-up. The first is Angel Di Maria, who is in demand as his Juventus deal approaches expiration, but there is also interest in another Argentine, Lionel Messi, and Messi’s former Barcelona colleague, Sergio Busquets.
“The 35-year-old moved to Turin on a one-year contract over the summer and will be available for free unless the Italian giants can tie him down to a new deal,” the paper explains.
“He struggled in his first few months at the club but has been in excellent form since his triumph at last year's World Cup and has scored six goals across all competitions in 2023.
“He is not the first big-name to be linked with Neville's side this year, after the manger refused to rule out they were chasing footballing legend Lionel Messi.
“The manager admitted that both Messi and midfielder Sergio Busquets are on his radar.”

Glazer sale of Man Utd not certain

The Mirror reports that Manchester United’s owners, the Glazer family, are getting cold feet over the prospect of selling the club. Bids have come in from at least two parties, with Elliott Investors also lurking with a potential financial arrangement, and the Glazer family are split as to the best course of action.
The Mirror explains: “Both Avram and Joel Glazer, the club's executive co-chairman, are said to be reluctant to sell the club that their family has owned since 2005, despite mounting pressure from fans and bids from at least two interested parties in a full sale; Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and Manchester-born billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS group.
“Avram Glazer also still feels "emotionally invested" in United despite the many issues that his family's ownership has faced.
“However, that stance contradicts with other members of the Glazer family.
“While Joel Glazer is still said to want to hold onto the club, Kevin, Bryan, Edward and Darcie Glazer are all looking to sell the family's 69 per cent shareholding in order to cash in what would be a massive profit from one of the biggest deals in world sport history.”

Newcastle join race for Scott

Bristol City’s 19-year-old attacker Alex Scott was interesting Wolves this January, but no move materialised due to the asking price, according to the Sun.
That has not put off other clubs, though, and the deeper pockets of Newcastle United mean that the North East side could make a move this summer.
The paper reports: “The midfielder, 19, has attracted interest from a host of top Premier League clubs after an impressive season under Nigel Pearson.
“Scott was a target for Wolves in the January window, though the Championship club were thought to have slapped a whopping £25million price tag on the England Under-20 international.
“Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all tracking Scott's progress, while Newcastle scouts have kept a keen eye on his performances this term.”

Tottenham keen on Wahi

With Harry Kane’s short and long-term future no longer assured at Tottenham as he approaches 30 and also the end of his current contract, the Express suggests that Spurs are looking for potential replacements, with a £16 million-rated French forward on their radar.
“Tottenham have earmarked Montpellier forward Elye Wahi as a potential summer signing amid the ongoing speculation over Harry Kane's long-term future at the club,” the report states.
“The 20-year-old has amassed 10 goal contributions from 21 appearances in all competitions for Montpellier this season and is said to have been catching the eye of some of Europe's biggest clubs as a result of his recent form.
“Tottenham have joined Arsenal in the race to land Wahi at the end of the campaign and could succeed with a cut-price bid for the young forward if Fabio Paratici gets to work in the summer.
“It is said that Borussia Dortmund are also keen on Wahi's services but are unlikely to snap him up in the face of Premier League interest, which could open the door for Spurs and their north London rivals to pounce when the bidding opens.”
