Arsenal might have to buy a midfielder to replace Thomas Partey which could hamper their chase for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, while Real Madrid have decided they will not sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe this summer. Elsewhere, Sir Jim Ratcliffe could soon be installed at Manchester United, and Gremio forward Luis Suarez is looking towards Inter Miami.

Arsenal may miss out on Toney

An injury to Thomas Partey could mean that Arsenal are unable to make a move for Brentford striker Ivan Partey, according to the Mail.
“Arsenal are considering switching their January transfer focus to signing a midfielder after Thomas Partey suffered a fresh injury blow,” the paper states.
“The Gunners had been expected to seek a new forward in the next window - with Brentford striker Ivan Toney the club's priority target - but there are major concerns that Partey will miss a significant chunk of the season.
“Mail Sport understands that the Ghana international has undergone a minor treatment procedure as he continues to recover from a thigh injury.
“Partey is set to miss the rest of the year, at least, but the lack of clarity over when he may be available again means Arsenal are ready to change tact in the transfer market.”

Mbappe set for Real Madrid snub

Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe seems set to miss out on a move to Real Madrid for at least another summer, according to reports.
“Real Madrid have already ruled out signing Frenchman Kylian Mbappe,” reports Spanish newspaper Marca.
“Los Merengues are no longer considering signing the striker, despite him deciding not to extend his contract with PSG and leave the club next summer.
“Even in the future, Real Madrid will no longer go for Mbappe, despite having wanted him to join the club in recent transfer windows, thus closing off any possibility of trying to secure his services."

United changeover could be imminent

The Sun believes that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival at Manchester United could be imminent, with the club struggling for success.
The paper writes: “A new dawn at Old Trafford under the guidance of Sir Jim Ratcliffe could be just days away.
“With the British billionaire reportedly nearing taking over a 25 per cent stake in the club, he is also said to be planning on taking over football operations as a part of the £1.4 billion deal.
“And it seems that amidst a string of poor results under manager Erik ten Hag, Ratcliffe isn't planning on wasting any more time to kickstart his revolution.”

Suarez set for Inter Miami move

The Mirror claims that Luis Suarez could soon be on his way to Inter Miami, with his Gremio contract set to expire.
The paper reports: “Luis Suarez's manager has admitted that he needs “a miracle” to stop the Uruguayan’s reunion with Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.
“The former Liverpool striker spent last season with Brazilian side Gremio as he scored 23 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions. That stint followed an emotional return to boyhood club Nacional.
“However, Suarez now has a decision ahead of him. The 36-year-old’s contract with Gremio expires at the end of the calendar year and it is expected that he will pen a deal with MLS side Inter Miami.
“A contract has not yet been officially signed that would see him reunited with former Barcelona team-mate Messi. However, his current manager Renato Gaucho is not optimistic of keeping Suarez at the club.”
