Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele could soon join Paris Saint-Germain as a release clause enters its final hours, while Chelsea are struggling to sign both Moises Caicedo and Robert Sanchez from Brighton. Elsewhere, Arsenal are facing off against Bayern Munich for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, and Real Madrid could table a late, lowball offer for Kylian Mbappe.

Dembele future in doubt

Ousmane Dembele could join Paris Saint-Germain as they look to make the most of a release clause that expires at the end of the month.
The Athletic explained that the €50million fee doubles in August, and there could be news in the coming hours.
“Ousmane Dembele’s future at Barcelona is in major doubt amid PSG’s interest in signing him this summer,” the outlet reports.
“Dembele currently has a €50million (£42m) release clause on his contract. This will stand until the end of the month. From the start of August, the clause would rise up to €100m (£84m).
“Developments are expected in the next 24 hours. The 26-year-old remains in Dallas, where he featured and scored in the 3-0 win against Real Madrid last night.”

Chelsea face another Caicedo hurdle

Brighton’s willingness to sell Moises Caicedo could be affected by the potential sale of Robert Sanchez to Chelsea.
Brighton want £100 million for Caicedo, with no deal with Chelsea in sight, and the Mail reports the two transfers could affect one another.
“Chelsea are exploring a deal for Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez,” the paper begins.
“The 25-year old has found himself out of the first team following Roberto de Zerbi's decision to favour Jason Steele and they have since added Bart Verbruggen from Anderlecht for £17m.
“Sanchez has been capped by Spain but is regarded as a homegrown player having been in Brighton's academy since he was 15.
“Chelsea want competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga having sold Edouard Mendy to Al Ahli while Gabriel Slonina is in talks to join KAS Eupen in Belgium.
“The complication is that Chelsea are still in negotiations with Brighton for £100m-rated midfielder Moises Caicedo and have so far failed to find agreement on a fee.”

Arsenal battle Bayern to sign Raya

The Sun reports that Arsenal and Bayern Munich are both keen on signing Brentford’s Spanish international goalkeeper David Raya.
“Arsenal are exploring a shock move to sign David Raya,” the paper writes.
“The Brentford shot-stopper has made his intention to leave abundantly clear after refusing to sign two new contract offers.
“And now the Gunners are considering a move for the 27-year-old.
“Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the Spaniard, and with his contract set to expire next summer Brentford are prepared to sell for the right price.
“Despite the interest, the North London outfit are yet to lodge a bid.
“Bayern Munich are also interested in signing Raya, though their preference is understood to be a loan transfer.”

Real bid may derail Liverpool hunt for Mbappe

The Mirror reports that Kylian Mbappe will be subject of a bid from Real Madrid, which could harm Liverpool’s chances of signing the player.
“Paris Saint-Germain believe that Real Madrid will table a derisory transfer offer to try and prise Kylian Mbappe away on the cheap in the coming weeks,” the paper claims.
“Mbappe, 24, has been a long-term target for the Spanish champions and was expected to move to the Bernabeu as a free agent last summer before he penned a new contract with PSG following a dramatic late change of heart.
“However, the sought-after striker is able to leave the Parc des Princes as a free agent in the summer of 2024 per the terms he signed - meaning the summer transfer window is PSG's final opportunity to cash in on the Frenchman.
“Mirror Football exclusively revealed on Saturday night that Liverpool are trying to broker a deal which would see Mbappe spend the season on loan at Anfield: a switch which would leave the World Cup winner free to join Real Madrid next summer.”
