Brentford prepare for Ivan Toney exit amid interest from Chelsea and Arsenal - Paper Round

Brentford are reportedly coming to terms with the likely departure of their in-demand striker Ivan Toney, while Bayern Munich are hoping to land Tottenham's versatile Eric Dier in the January transfer window. Elsewhere, Wolverhampton Wanderers could sell Jonny Otto on the cheap, while Bromley midfielder Ben Krauhaus is attracting interest from Premier League sides including Crystal Palace.

Brentford expect Toney departure
The Mirror reports that Brentford believe that they will lose Arsenal target Ivan Toney, with contract talks yet to start.
He has 18 months on his contract remaining, and both Arsenal and Chelsea could challenge for the striker.
"Brentford appear resigned to losing Ivan Toney with the club yet to even engage in new contract talks amid interest from Arsenal," the paper writes.
“The forward is set to return having served a lengthy gambling ban but only has 18 months left on his deal in west London. It is the same contract Toney signed when he joined from Peterborough four years ago and the Bees, whilst determined to retain him this month, appear ready to accept his departure.
‘Arsenal, who are also facing potential competition from London rivals Chelsea, will have to pay top dollar if they want to land Toney with figures of £100million quoted for the striker, who was among the top scorers in the Premier League last season.
“Both the Gunners and the Blues have experienced problems in the final third. Chelsea have lacked a prolific goalscorer for several years whilst Arsenal, who harbour hopes of a title triumph, do not have a centre forward who can be relied upon to continue firing, which is underlined by the numbers.”
Bayern target Dier
The Evening Standard reports that Bayern Munich are interested in taking Tottenham defender Eric Dier to the Bundesliga.
Dier will be a free agent in the summer, which means that Tottenham could be talked into selling him in January to avoid losing him for nothing.
“Bayern Munich have enquired about Tottenham defender Eric Dier as the Bundesliga champions explore options to strengthen their defence in January,” the paper explains.
“Dier is out of contract at Spurs in the summer and free to talk with overseas clubs this month about an end-of-season free transfer.
“Spurs would also be open to allowing the 29-year-old to leave immediately, with the defender not part of head coach Ange Postecoglou's plans.
“Bayern, who signed Harry Kane from Spurs in a deal worth £86million up front in the summer, have opened talks with Dier but are also exploring other options in his position.”
Wolves ready to get rid of Otto
Following Jonny Otto’s exile from the first team at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the club are ready to sell him for just £2.5 million.
The defender was part of a training ground scuffle that has seen him cut from the team, and with 18 months left on his deal they seemingly want rid.
“Wolves have made former club record signing Jonny Otto available for a cut-price £2.5million this month as they seek to offload the exiled defender,” the Mail states.
“The Spaniard has been banished from first-team sessions and facilities by Gary O'Neil since an extraordinary incident in training last month, in which he elbowed team-mate Tawanda Chirewa and spat at a member of the coaching staff who was attempting to restrain him, before going on to vandalise an area of the players' room after he was finally removed from the pitch.
“Wolves paid Celta Vigo a then club record £18m for Jonny following a successful loan spell four years ago, but the club are prepared to take a major loss on the former Spanish international despite the fact that he has 18 months left on his contract.”
Palace set for Krauhaus battle
Crystal Palace are in the running for Bromley’s 19-year-old midfielder Ben Krauhaus, reports The Sun.
The paper suggests that Wolves, Brentford and many lower league sides are keen on the player.
The paper claims: “Crystal Palace, Wolves and Brentford are eyeing Bromley midfielder Ben Krauhaus.
‘SunSport understands the Premier League trio were among ten clubs who ran the rule over the 19-year-old in last Saturday's 5-1 win over Ebbsfleet.
“But Palace, Wolves and Brentford face competition for the non-league whizkid.
“Championship quartet Leicester, Norwich, Cardiff and Hull, as well as League One Oxford, all sent scouts to watch Krauhaus score twice.
‘Academy graduate Krauhaus has caught the eye with his performances in recent months.”
