Chelsea are interested in signing Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain if he does not join Barcelona, while Inter Miami are still waiting for Lionel Messi to sign his contract after agreeing to join them. Elsewhere, Leonardo Bonucci was shocked to be told that he would not be wanted at Juventus any longer, and Arsenal have not yet completed the deal for Declan Rice.

Arsenal confirm signing of Ajax star Timber in £38m deal

Chelsea keen on Neymar switch

The Sun report that if Neymar is unable to land a move to Barcelona, then Chelsea are ready to make a move.
“The Ligue 1 giants are preparing for a rebuild following the exit of Lionel Messi and the potential sale of Kylian Mbappe,” the paper claims.
“Neymar was intent on leaving the club this summer with a move back to Barcelona his preferred destination.
“However, since the arrival of former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique at PSG, there is now the potential that he could opt to stay.
“If this does not happen, then Chelsea are believed to be interested in taking him on.”

Messi has not yet signed for Inter Miami

The Athletic claims that Inter Miami have not yet signed Lionel Messi, because the former Barcelona man is yet to actually sign his contract with the MLS side.
The website reports: “Lionel Messi’s contract with Inter Miami and Major League Soccer had not yet been signed as of early Friday and was in the final stages of the legal process, a source with knowledge of the deal told The Athletic.
“That source was granted anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly about the contract.
“The contract was expected to be signed imminently and the team is planning to officially announce Messi in a press release ahead of an event Sunday in which Messi will be unveiled to fans at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.”

Bonucci to leave Juventus

Leonardo Bonucci was left shocked that he would be leaving Juventus this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The veteran had not anticipated being told he would leave the Italian side so suddenly.
The paper states: “Leonardo Bonucci's 13 years of ups and downs at Juventus have, this week, been compounded by the poor communicative debut of Cristiano Giuntoli.
“Juventus' new sporting director only arrived at the start of the month but has already had a major impact on the future of the Italian giants.
“Ahead of the 2023-24 season, the last-standing member of Juventus' historic defensive line - which featured Buffon, Barzagli, Chiellini and Bonucci - will leave the club.
“Despite the 36-year-old outlasting all of his former team-mates at the Old Lady, Bonucci was still left in shock by the unexpected news that he would have to leave.”

Rice deal still to be completed

Declan Rice is another player who has not yet formally made his summer move, with his transfer to Arsenal from West Ham yet to be signed off.
“Arsenal have completed the £40million signing of Jurrien Timber – and hope to have Declan Rice on their flight to the United States,” explains the Mirror.
“Netherlands defender Timber, 22, has signed a five-year contract and will travel on the club’s pre-season tour to America, which leaves with a flight to Washington on Sunday. Arsenal have also submitted the paperwork to West Ham for Rice’s move with now just the final details to be completed.
“Arsenal agreed a £105m fee for Rice two weeks ago, but the reality is that they only got into the final stages of the deal once the clubs had agreed the structure of the payments. Rice was given an extended break after England duty, but is now back in the United Kingdom ready to complete his move and for it to be announced.”
