Gremio striker Luis Suarez has amended his contract with his current club as he aims to move to MLS side Inter Miami next year, while Liverpool will take a hit if Sadio Mane leaves Bayern Munich for Al-Nassr. Elsewhere, Manchester United may choose to keep Scott McTominay, and both Newcastle and Everton are keen on RB Salzburg defender Oumar Solet.

Messi confirmed as Inter Miami captain by manager Martino

Suarez moves close to Inter Miami move

Spanish newspaper Marca reports on Luis Suarez’s contract change at Gremio that could free him up to join MLS side Inter Miami in a few months.
The paper states: “Luis Suarez has made a decision to stay in Brazil until the end of their season in December, under the condition of bringing forward the end of his contract with Gremio, which was originally set to expire at the end of 2024.
“This means that he can leave a year earlier than planned and be free to join another club.
“Gremio have agreed to this request, meaning that if the experienced striker chooses to sign with Inter Miami, to link up with his friend Lionel Messi, the Brazilian club will not receive any transfer fee for him.
“Suarez joined Gremio in January 2023, and it was his own request to sign a two-season contract.
“But, he then wanted to change his mind and leave earlier than planned, after the chance to join forces with Messi in MLS came up.”

Mane transfer costs Liverpool

Liverpool could miss out on £7.5 million from Bayern Munich as he nears his switch to Al-Nassr, according to the Mirror.
The 31-year-old striker moved for £27.5m last summer with the rest in add-ons, and after scoring only 12 goals last season, any bonuses are yet to be activated.
“The Senegalese winger is on the verge of joining former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo in the Gulf State. Bayern are reportedly set to bank around £30m from Mane’s exit, with the move set to bring to an end a disappointing debut campaign in Bavaria,” the paper reports.
“The former Liverpool forward only signed for the German giants last summer in a £35m switch from Anfield. He started brightly but ended up scoring just 12 goals across 38 games in all competitions
“The original deal that took him to Bayern saw the Reds receive a guaranteed £27.5m fee, whilst there were also a further £7.5m in performance-based add-ons slotted into the agreement. He will now not be able to achieve any of those.”

United may change McTominay plans

Scott McTominay could now stay at Manchester United despite Erik ten Hag being willing to sell the player, according to The Telegraph.
An ankle injury to Kobbie Mainoo, twinned with Fred and Donny van de Beek’s expected departures, mean that McTominay may remain at Old Trafford.
The paper writes: “United plan to sell Fred, who is not on the tour for personal reasons, and Donny van de Beek, but Mainoo’s injury may force a rethink on McTominay, who is wanted by West Ham.
“Ten Hag has been open to selling McTominay if a bid of around £45 million came in but the loss of Mainoo plus the prospect of multiple sales could leave the United manager short in midfield and he will have a decision to make now on whether he can realistically lose the Scotland international.
“Ten Hag is interested in Sofyan Amrabat but a move for the Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder would be more likely if McTominay is sold.”

Solet keen on Premier League move

Red Bull Salzburg’s 23-year-old French defender Oumar Solet is interested in a move to the Premier League, with Newcastle and Everton both tracking him, according to the Mail.
“Red Bull Salzburg defender Oumar Solet has told Mail Sport he is open to a Premier League move this summer amid interest from England’s top-flight,” the paper claims.
“The former France Under-20 international is attracting major interest from a host of European clubs ahead of next season, with Serie A sides Inter Milan and Torino among the teams keen on the versatile defender.
“However, a number of Premier League teams - Newcastle and Everton among them - are also tracking Solet, who admits he is open to moving to England.”
