Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, Edmond Tapsoba, Giorgio Scalvini and Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite are all linked to moves to Manchester United in January, while AS Roma's Jose Mourinho could be on his way to Saudi Arabia to be the permanent Al-Ittihad manager. Elsewhere, Arsenal are ready to sell Thomas Partey, with Serie A giants Juventus said to be interested.

Todibo one of four defenders on United shortlist

Manchester United will hope to sign a striker and a defender this January in the transfer market, but the Daily Mail suggests that they will have to do so with limited funds.
“Manchester United will be limited to cheap or loan deals in the January transfer window amid ongoing uncertainty over their ownership,” the paper reports.
“A striker and a defender are top of Erik ten Hag's shopping list but Financial Fair Play restrictions and a lack of clarity over Sir Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of a 25 per cent stake will prevent big spending.
“It also remains to be seen how much United can recoup for the exiled Jadon Sancho as the club's hierarchy weigh up various contract extensions.
“Names in the frame include Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice, Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen, Giorgio Scalvini of Atalanta and Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite.”

Mourinho targeted for Saudi move

Roma manager Jose Mourinho could soon be on the move to Saudi Arabia, according to the Mirror.
The outlet writes: “Jose Mourinho has emerged as a candidate to be the permanent Al-Ittihad manager – and the Roma boss has already claimed Cristiano Ronaldo has helped persuade him to one day move to Saudi Arabia.
“Roma boss Mourinho claims to have received the "biggest and craziest offer" in managerial history, which reportedly came from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal - the club Neymar plays for. However, current Saudi champions Al-Ittihad have a vacancy after the dismissal of Nuno.
“The experienced Portuguese boss guided the club to their first league title in 14 years in May, having already won the Saudi Super Cup. That preceded a host of superstars joining the club as part of a financially-backed recruitment drive.”

Partey may be sold by Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey could be on his way out of the club as early as this winter, states The Sun.
“Arsenal are ready to listen to offers for the injury-prone Thomas Partey in January,” the paper reports.
“The defensive midfielder, 30, is in his fourth season with the Gunners following a £45million move from Atletico Madrid.
“The 30-year-old Ghana international is likely to be ruled out of action for the rest of the year after suffering a thigh problem in training last week.
“And his latest spell on the sidelines has accelerated plans to cash in on a player who has now missed 57 games and been unavailable for 296 days.
“Partey is one of Arsenal’s highest paid players on £200,000-a-week and has a contract which runs to 2025.
“Italian giants Juventus are keen to sign Partey and there has been interest from a number of Saudi Arabian clubs this year.”
