Tuesday’s Paper Round leads on Manchester United, who are planning to sell Jadon Sancho and Antony as part of a £100m plan this summer. Elsewhere, Newcastle United are entertaining offers for star players, and that has seen them linked with a move for Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White. Kalvin Phillips could also be on the move from Manchester City, with West Ham now favourites.

Man Utd’s £100m plan
Manchester United will look to offload Jadon Sancho and Antony in the summer, and they hope to make around £50m each according to the Standard. The £100m plan is shy of the £155m spent on the duo, but United are willing to cut their losses and also potentially sell Casemiro.
The Standard adds: “United director of football John Murtough met Saudi Pro League and Saudi Ministry of Sport officials at the Club World Cup in December to build connections, with an increased opportunity to sell players expected in the summer.
“Casemiro is the player most wanted by Saudi clubs. United are inclined to sell the 31-year-old midfielder, who has been out with an ankle injury since October, for the right price.
“Raphael Varane could also move to Saudi, but United are unlikely to receive a transfer fee for him after opting against exercising a one-year extension clause in his contract.”
Gibbs-White in, Almiron out?
With Newcastle battling to hold onto their star players in this January transfer window, there is an acceptance a summer rebuild is around the corner, the Telegraph writes. Miguel Almiron is the latest name in the transfer gossip columns, although reports linking the Paraguayan with Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab are said to be premature.
Nevertheless, Newcastle could look to replace Almiron with Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White. Newcastle’s scouting team are said to have monitored Gibbs-White closely this season.
The Telegraph adds: “Talks are set to continue over the next few days and there is a chance the Paraguay international is sold before the end of the month.
Newcastle would then use that money to push to sign Everton’s Amadou Onana or another midfield target. Gibbs-White was hugely impressive in Forest’s 3-1 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day. Forest are likely to resist any bid.
“Even if an acceptable deal is not agreed before the deadline for Almiron it is highly likely the interest will be rekindled in the summer.”
AC Milan eye Wilson
Another name linked with a Newcastle exit is Callum Wilson, with the Daily Mail reporting AC Milan would like to sign the 31-year-old striker on a permanent deal this month. Wilson would be open to the move if a fee was accepted, while Atletico Madrid have already had a loan offer rejected.
Wilson could therefore go for the right price, but that would leave Newcastle searching for a replacement.
The Mail adds: “RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has been tracked for some time, but his £42million release clause does not kick in until the summer.
“Wilson, 31, has 18 months to run on his contract and any sizeable offer would leave Newcastle with a big decision to make. Eddie Howe would be determined to keep his No 9, who will return from a four-week calf layoff this month.”
Phillips close to West Ham loan
West Ham have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Kalvin Phillips and could agree a loan deal for the England international with Manchester City soon, the Daily Mail reports. Newcastle had been among the favourites to sign Phillips, but now it is Juventus who appear the most likely to step in and swoop the midfielder away from a move to West Ham.
Newcastle were among the Premier League teams put off by City’s terms for any deal. They reportedly wanted a £6m loan fee.
The Mail adds: “West Ham are open to taking Phillips on a permanent deal at the end of the season, though his sizeable wages at the Etihad would prove problematic towards any such deal.
“The finer details of the deal still need concluding, but the Hammers are hopeful of completing the transfer early this week.
“Phillips is believed to be open to joining the Hammers this month.”
