Manchester City hope to sign Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, while Burnley and Granada both want Alvaro Fernadez from Manchester United. Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid wait to see if Barcelona or a Saudi club move for forward Joao Felix, and Brentford make another bid for Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez.

Guardiola: New Bernardo Silva contract would be a 'dream'

City look at Eze and Nunes

The Sun reports on two players that Manchester City could sign before the end of the transfer window.
The paper writes: “Manchester City have added two Premier League stars to their transfer wishlist after pulling out of a move for Lucas Paqueta.
“The treble winners had agreed an £80m deal in principle with West Ham for the Brazilian but a move fell through following his alleged breach of betting rules.
“City are considering a swoop for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
“City have also been linked with a move for Wolves ace Matheus Nunes.
“And City could take advantage of Wolves' financial situation as the club are trying to fit within FFP guidelines.”

Burnley face battle to land United defender

Vincent Kompany’s side Burnley want Alvaro Fernandez from Manchester United, but Spanish outfit Granada are also keen on the 20-year-old defender.
“Granada and Burnley are both keen on a deal to sign Manchester United defender Alvaro Fernandez before the end of the transfer window,” writes the Mirror.
“Fernandez spent last season on loan at Preston in the Championship and returned to Old Trafford this summer, featuring in pre-season training for United. The 20-year-old had been likely to go out on loan once again this season after boss Erik ten Hag took a closer look at the Spaniard to evaluate his progress.
“United are aware that the Spaniard’s progression path will hasten with regular first-team football and are willing to sanction his exit this summer, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia occupying the left-back slot – while Brandon Williams is in talks over a move to Ipswich.
“However, the Red Devils are not keen for Fernandez to depart permanently as they believe he has the potential to be a first-team player within the coming seasons. Granada are believed to want an option to buy him permanently in a loan proposal, while Burnley ’s interest – while less advanced – would include permanency.”

Felix waits for Barcelona move

With the transfer window coming to an end in the next week and a half in Saudi Arabia, the future of Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is in the balance.
The Daily Mail explains: “He was once one of the most exciting prospects in European football but 23-year-old Joao Felix will be heading for Saudi Arabia this September unless there is a big transfer market shake-up in the next 10 days.
“It's Barca or bust in the next week and half - bust meaning a one-year loan at Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
“His agent Jorge Mendes has plenty of influence at Barcelona. He is close to the club's new Director of Football Deco and is the agent of Joao Cancelo who Xavi is desperate to see sign before deadline day.
“He also represents Ansu Fati who Barcelona are trying to sell to give them money to spend in what is left of the market.”

Brentford make record bid for Gonzalez

Brentford are continuing their transfer window by making a £35m bid for Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez, which would be a record for the club.
“Brentford are ready to smash their transfer record again after submitting a bid worth around £35 million for Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez,” claims The Telegraph newspaper.
“The offer is Brentford’s second of the summer for Gonzalez, an Argentina international, after an initial proposal of around £26 million was turned down this month.
“If Brentford can secure a deal for the 25-year-old, it would represent the third time this summer that they have broken their transfer record.
“The club paid around £22 million to turn Kevin Schade’s loan move into a permanent deal in June, before then spending £23 million on Wolves centre-back Nathan Collins.”
