Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea tempted by £18m Newcastle striker Callum Wilson - Paper Round

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are tempted by Callum Wilson’s £18 million price tag, with all clubs said to be weighing up a move for the Newcastle striker in the final week of the January transfer window.

The Standard claims Wilson, who has seven goals in 14 appearances so far this season, is now on the market as “Newcastle need to raise money to ensure they stay in line with Premier League profit and sustainability rules”.

The report states: "Wilson, who has scored 46 goals in 102 games for Newcastle, is a sellable asset and his availability could provide an intriguing story in the final week of what has been a quiet January window.

"Wilson would provide a short-term solution for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United, who have all been considering their options as they bid to boost their firepower.

"Wilson has previously held talks with Atletico Madrid but he does not want to risk moving abroad to be back-up to Alvaro Morata, as he targets a place in the England squad for Euro 2024. AC Milan have also been linked with a move for the striker."

Kylian Mbappe will reportedly face a "huge pay-cut" if he opts to leave Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid.

Mbappe is out of contract in the summer and has long been linked with a move to Los Blancos.

But, according to a report in the Mail, the France international will receive a lesser salary should he decide to make the move to Spain.

The Mail states: "Kylian Mbappe reportedly faces a huge pay-cut should he decide to finally leave Paris Saint-Germain for Real Madrid.

"The Spaniards' public pursuit of the French striker has been a drawn-out saga in recent years.

"But there has been growing optimism in recent months, particularly in Spain, that Mbappe will finally end up at the Bernabeu when his PSG contract expires in the summer.

"All is not as it seems, however.

"ESPN report that Real Madrid's current offer to Mbappe is lower than what has been offered in the past, while PSG are said to have offered a fresh contract on the same terms, namely £31.6m a year.

"It has been claimed that Real Madrid are reluctant to shatter their current wage set-up, even if Mbappe would become the top earner at the club with the current offer on the table.

"A source reportedly told ESPN that the La Liga side do not want to pay Mbappe significantly more than established stars such as Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Jnr.

"It is reported that those two earn in the region of £9m net per season."

Arsenal will attempt to lure Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer, according to a report.

The Nigeria international claims he has "already made up his mind" with regards to his next career move, with a host of Premier League clubs said to be interested in acquiring his services.

And, according to the a report in The Sun, Mikel Arteta's side are ready to "enter the race" this summer.

"The 25-year-old signed a new deal with the Italian outfit in December," the article states.

"However, the reported inclusion of a £112 million release clause means Napoli cannot hold buyers to ransom and will have to sell if that figure is met.

"According to Fabrizio Romano, writing for CaughtOffside, Osimhen has already made the decision to find a new club in the summer, believing his time in Naples has been a 'great success'.

"Romano reports Chelsea will face competition from Saudi Arabia while he teases that fans should "keep an eye" on Arsenal.

"The Gunners have been linked with Ivan Toney throughout the window, but SunSport understands there will be no movement from The Gunners this month.

"Instead, it seems the North London outfit will wait until the summer to make moves for a new forward."
