United may return to transfer market

The injury to Luke Shaw means that Erik ten Hag may return to the transfer market in order to find some defensive cover, according to The Mirror.
The paper writes: “Erik ten Hag may have to dip into the transfer market to sign a left-back on a short-term basis following an injury to Luke Shaw.
“Manchester United are still aiming to bring in new faces before next week's transfer deadline following their indifferent start to the new Premier League campaign, with a midfielder understood to be at the top of Ten Hag's wishlist.
“Funds are tight at Old Trafford following a summer spend of over £170million, so making an additional, unplanned signing is unlikely to help Ten Hag in his bid to reinforce other areas of his squad.
“In midfield, Sofyan Amrabat is believed to remain the club's top target - even though Fiorentina have reiterated that, to date, they have receive no official bid for the Morocco international.”

Barca closing in on Cancelo

Barcelona look likely to conclude a straightforward loan deal for Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo, with no permanent move to be agreed because of Barca’s financial problems.
“Joao Cancelo will be a Barcelona player in the coming days. The agreement with Manchester City for the player's loan is complete,” explains Spanish newspaper Marca.
“The only thing that remains to be resolved is for Barcelona to ensure the deal fits within their Financial Fair Play requirements.
“Despite what has been said in the last few days, the loan of the Portuguese international does not have any obligation for Barcelona to buy him.
“There had been speculation that there was a commitment by which the club was obliged to buy the player if he played a number of matches or if the club achieved a number of sporting objectives, but that isn't the case.”

Bournemouth keen on Leicester striker

The Mail reports that Bournemouth are keen on Leicester City striker Patson Daka, with Everton already unsuccessful with a loan offer.
“Bournemouth are set to step up their interest in Leicester City forward Patson Daka before the transfer window closes next week,” the paper claims.
“The Zambian international is valued at £25 million by the Foxes, and a loan offer from Everton was turned down earlier in the summer.
“Daka has not been involved in Leicester's squad for their last two Championship games and head coach Enzo Maresca has admitted to leaving some players out because of speculation about their futures.”

Lukaku not available, Pochettino told

The Sun reports that Mauricio Pochettino is not allowed to pick Romelu Lukaku while his future is uncertain.
“Manager Mauricio Pochettino has been told not to pick outcast striker Romelu Lukaku,” explains the outlet.
“Chelsea are running out of time to offload the £97.5 million Belgian ahead of next Friday night’s transfer deadline.
“New Blues chief Pochettino took on the job knowing there was a stand-off between the forward, 30, and board - and is caught in the middle of a nightmare situation.
“Juventus have offered just £35m for a player who cost Chelsea a club-record fee two years ago.
“Fellow Italian side Roma want a loan deal — but Blues chairman Todd Boehly is insisting on a permanent sale only.”
