Rasmus Hojlund has yet to score a Premier League goal since his arrival at Manchester United and now Erik ten Hag's side feel the striker needs support when the transfer window opens in January. Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag is considered to be “on thin ice” at Man Utd, and Arsenal are eyeing up a move for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, once a target for United.

Man Utd want support striker for Hojlund

Manchester United want to sign a support striker for Rasmus Hojlund in January "amid concerns over their £72 million signing’s development".
That's according to the report in the Mail which states "there is a sense at United that Hojlund would benefit from working alongside a more experienced centre-forward, who would also be able to share the goalscoring burden".
"Given his young age, United are considering adding a more seasoned centre-forward to their ranks at the turn of the year, believing the right addition would add value to Hojlund's development," the article continues.
"United recruitment staff are monitoring experienced striking talent across Europe with a view to making a January signing not only to add much needed firepower but to ease the pressure on Hojlund.
"Brentford striker Ivan Toney is set to leave in one of the next two windows with United known to be monitoring the England striker’s situation.
"Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, 31, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer and could interest United with the Iran international’s current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
"United have also been heavily linked with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
"There is a willingness at United to improve the squad in January following their disappointing start."

Ten Hag 'on thin ice'

Erik ten Hag is considered to be “on thin ice” at Man Utd, states a report in The Times.
"A senior source at United said that two heavy defeats at Old Trafford this week - by Manchester City in the league and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup - had left him at risk of being sacked if he cannot improve the team’s form," the article reads.
"The Times understands that United have considered potential candidates if Ten Hag continues to struggle, but on Thursday the club issued a statement denying that. They said it was 'categorically false' that they were exploring alternatives to Ten Hag.
"Ruben Amorim, the Sporting Lisbon manager, and Zinedine Zidane, could be viewed as potential replacements, although the situation is hugely complicated by the uncertainty over ownership.
"Ten Hag was not regarded as under pressure but after the defeats of the past week, he now needs an upturn in results and performances to ward off a gathering crisis.
"It is understood that some players do not believe Ten Hag has the right attributes to get the team out of the mess they find themselves in, while discussions have been had over the intensity of the training sessions, with some believing that it is contributing towards injury."

Arsenal eyeing former Utd target Sesko

Arsenal are eyeing up a move for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko, once a target for Man Utd, according to the Mirror.
"Sesko, 20, rejected interest from The Red Devils last summer and instead joined RB Leipzig," the article states.
"Sesko is already attracting interest from elsewhere, with Arsenal understood to have sent scouts to watch him in the German top-tier. The Gunners are 'monitoring' Sesko ahead of a potential move as he continues to draw comparisons with City marksman and Ballon d'Or runner-up Erling Haaland.
"Surprisingly, Leipzig value Sesko at just £40 million. AC Milan are also interested but Arsenal are confident they can win any race to secure the services of the attacker."
