Chelsea know the price they will have to pay to land Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, but they may now miss out on Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran this winter. Elsewhere, a number of Manchester United players could be sold as Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to raise funds, and Crystal Palace may make another bid for in-demand Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton.

Napoli want huge Osimhen fee

Napoli will ask for £112 million for their star striker Victor Osimhen this summer, with The Sun reporting the value of his transfer release clause.
“Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Victor Osimhen will leave the club this summer,” the report begins.
“The superstar striker is hot property on the transfer market after guiding Napoli to their first Serie A title in over 30 years.
“The 25-year-old penned a new deal in Naples last month, but it is said to include a release clause of £112m.
“And it looks like Napoli are willing to cash in on the star as De Laurentiis has explained he already knows Osimhen is leaving.
“He said: ‘We knew he would go to Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club.’”

Chelsea face obstacle in hunt for Duran

Chelsea had been linked with Aston Villa's Jhon Duran as a potential striking solution, but a recent injury means that he may now miss out on a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Evening Standard reports that Chelsea were ready to look at the player who has struggled for minutes under Unai Emery.
“Jhon Duran's hopes of securing a move away from Aston Villa before next week's January transfer deadline may now have been scuppered,” the paper explains.
“Chelsea are among the clubs to have been linked with a move for the Colombian international forward, along with the likes of rivals West Ham and Newcastle.
“Villa were rumoured to be entertaining interest in a player they only signed from Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit Chicago Fire in an £18million deal 12 months ago, with head coach Unai Emery thought to want to make room for a new striker signing of his own amid ongoing links to Middlesbrough's Morgan Rogers and Armando Broja at Chelsea, among others.
“However, Emery revealed before Friday night's FA Cup fourth round showdown with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge that Duran - who got 25 minutes off the bench in Villa's goalless draw with Everton a fortnight ago - would now be sidelined for numerous weeks as the result of an injury setback suffered late on at Goodison Park that seems highly likely to end any transfer speculation in this window with the deadline fast approaching on February 1.”

Ratcliffe plans United firesale

Manchester United could send a number of players on their way as Sir Jim Ratcliffe considers a way to raise funds at Old Trafford.
A number of first team players could be sent on their way to raise £100 million, the Mirror says.
The paper writes: “Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already made sweeping changes at Old Trafford since agreeing to buy a minority stake in United from the Glazers for £1.3billion, a deal that still needs to be ratified by the Premier League.
“More could follow as part of a £100m fire sale.
“The likes of Scott McTominay, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Antony have also all been listed as saleable assets by Ratcliffe.
“Casemiro and Wan-Bissaka have both been linked with permanent exits to Saudi side Al-Nassr this month.”

Palace could bid again for Wharton

Crystal Palace may come back for Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton.
The teenager has attracted interest from a number of big sides, including Tottenham, and his club want to keep him.
“Crystal Palace are pondering a revised bid for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton,” the Mail writes.
“Palace saw an offer around £18.5m rejected on Thursday and Rovers asked to keep Wharton on loan.
“The 19-year-old, who has been at the club since the age of six, signed a deal in December which will keep him at Blackburn until the end of the 2027-28 season.
“Wharton has also attracted the attention of several other Premier League clubs, including Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham.”
