West Ham have made their first signing of the January transfer window. David Moyes' side have brought in Kalvin Phillips on a loan deal from Manchester City for the remainder of the season. The England international could make his debut in next week's Premier League clash against Bournemouth at the London Stadium. The Hammers have fought off interest from England and abroad for his signature.

‘He feels good’ - Haaland close to Manchester City return, says Guardiola

West Ham United have fought off competition from several Premier League rivals to capture Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City.
The England international moves to the London Stadium on a loan deal until the end of the season, as he attempts to boost his chances of being part of Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 squad.
Everton, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace were all reportedly interested in signing the 28-year old, who has endured a frustrating period since joining Pep Guardiola's side on a six-year contract from Leeds United in 2022.
That move cost City around £42 million, but Phillips has only made 16 Premier League appearances for the club, 14 of which have come as a substitute.
He hasn't featured competitively since mid-December, when he came on as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Urawa Red Diamonds in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
“I’m really pleased to be here,” Phillips said in a statement. “There’s always been a lot of speculation about me moving to West Ham, so I’m really excited to get going now.
“There’s so much to look forward to in the second half of the season for the club and I can’t wait to be part of it.
“There’s an unbelievable group here and if I can come in and add the quality that I know I’m capable of, I’m sure we can give the West Ham fans plenty to be excited about between now and the end of the season."
Phillips has remained part of Gareth Southgate's plans in recent months, winning four international caps already this season, despite his lack of club football.
His last appearance in the Premier League came against Bournemouth on November 4, and, after becoming their first signing of the January window, he could make his Hammers debut against the Cherries on February 1.
Manager David Moyes will be hoping he can add further depth to a squad who are on a run of just one defeat in their last 10 top-flight matches, boosting their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.
“We are really pleased to bring a player of Kalvin’s quality to West Ham United,” Moyes said.
“We’ve been big admirers of him for a long time and we believe that he will add strength and competition to our squad.
“Kalvin is an England international midfielder, with proven Premier League experience. We’re excited to welcome him into the group and look forward to working with him.”
Phillips will be competing with new team-mates James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Tomas Soucek for a starting place in the midfield.
