Fenerbahce secured a crucial win in their title battle with Galatasaray on the weekend as they beat Trabzonspor 3-2. However the game was marred by violence as Trabzonspor fans invaded the pitch at full-time and got into altercations with Fenerbahce players. FIFA president Gianni Infantino called for repercussions. The Turkish FA said they will enforce "criminal sanctions".

Fenerbahce’s 3-2 win away at rivals Trabzonspor was marred by violent pitch invasions by the home fans at full-time.
The Trabzonspor fans had already thrown items on to the pitch after former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi had given the visitors the lead late on.
And at full-time Trabzonspor supporters rushed on to the pitch to confront the Fenerbahce players, with Batshuayi and Bright Osayi-Samuel trying to intervene as security forces sought to bring matters under control.
Eventually things settled and the Fenerbahce players could leave the pitch.
"It is never acceptable for violence to take place on football pitches - above all, sport is gentlemanship," Turkey's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said.
"An investigation has been initiated immediately to identify the spectators who entered the pitch and to investigate the incidents that took place at the end of the match," he posted on X.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino released his own statement through FIFA where he said the incidents were "absolutely unacceptable".
"I have said it before, and I will say it again - without exception, in football, all players have to be safe and secure to play the game which brings such joy to so many people all over the world," he said.
"I call on the relevant authorities to ensure that this is respected at all levels and for the perpetrators of the shocking events in Trabzon to be held accountable for their actions."
The Turkish FA, per the BBC, said "the necessary criminal sanctions will be imposed on those responsible for these incidents".
It follows another incident in the Super Lig back in December when referee Halil Umut Meler was struck by MKE Ankaragucu president Faruk Koca after his team conceded a 97th-minute equaliser against Caykur Rizespor.
