Hibernian set up Aston Villa clash in UEFA Europa Conference League play-off after draw in Luzern, Hearts to play PAOK

Hibernian can look forward to a UEFA Europa Conference League play-off with the Premier League's Aston Villa after the Scottish club claimed a 2-2 draw in Luzern, Switzerland. Meanwhile, fellow Scottish Premiership side Hearts secured their place in the play-off with a 3-1 comeback win over Norway's Rosenborg, and they will meet Greek side PAOK next.

Aston Villa will play Hibernian in an intriguing UEFA Europa Conference League play-off after the Scottish club claimed a 2-2 draw in Luzern.
Lee Johnson’s side were leading 3-1 from the first leg at Easter Road, and Elie Youhan’s early goal in Switzerland extended their aggregate lead further.
The hosts levelled only six minutes later when Lars Villiger took advantage of indecision in the Hibs defence.
Kemal Ademi’s header in the 67th-minute gave Luzern the lead on the night and looked to set up a nervy finale, but Martin Boyle restored parity a short while later as Hibs held on for a 5-3 aggregate win.
Aston Villa – who finished seventh in last season’s Premier League – will travel to Scotland for the first leg on August 24 before entertaining Hibs a week later.
Meanwhile, fellow Scottish Premiership side Hearts secured their place in the play-off with a 3-1 comeback win over Rosenborg.
Izak Thorvaldsson’s fifth-minute opener extended the Norwegian side’s aggregate lead after their 2-1 win in the first leg.
Lawrence Shankland’s fine finish eight minutes later gave Hearts hope in the tie and just after the restart Cammy Devlin reduced the deficit to one.
The Australian then sent the home supporters into raptures with a goal two minutes into stoppage time, and Frankie McAvoy’s side can now look forward to two-legged affair against Greek side PAOK.
In UEFA Europa League qualifying, Sotiris Alexandropoulous grabbed an equaliser in the fifth minute of stoppage time as Olympiacos earned a 1-1 draw with Genk in Belgium to win 2-1 on aggregate and seal their place in the play-off where they will meet Serbian side Cukaricki.
In another of the standout games, Bulgaria’s Ludogorets overturned a 2-1 deficit in style as they thrashed Astana 5-1 to advance 6-3 on aggregate.
Bernard Tekpetey and Jakub Piotrowski grabbed a brace apiece to help Ludogorets overcome the visitors from Kazakhstan. They will play Ajax in the play-off.
