13:10 - Draw o’clock

So we’re ready to rock and roll with the third and final draw of the days. The balls are in their pots… Let’s go.

13:05 - Away we go

Giorgio Marchetti is back, you'll be glad to hear.

12:55 - Teams in Europa Conference League draw

The Conference League group runners-ups:
  • Bodo/Glimt
  • Dinamo Zagreb
  • Ferencvaros
  • Frankfurt
  • Gent
  • Legia
  • Ludogorets
  • Slovan Bratislava
And they can face one of the teams from the Europa League, providing they are not from the same nation, all of whom finished third in their group:
  • Ajax
  • Maccabi Haifa
  • Molde
  • Olympiacos
  • Real Betis
  • Servette
  • Sturm Graz
  • Union SG

12:50 - Europa Conference League draw

We go again.
This time it’s the Europa Conference League draw, which involves clubs dropping down from the Europa League – who finished third in their group – against the Conference League group runners-up.
So that means Aston Villa are not involved in this draw, but among the standout names in the pots are Ajax and Real Betis.
And once again, we’re live on TNT Sports, discovery+ and free to watch via our YouTube channel.

12:40 - 'Nobody will want to face Brighton'

Michael Owen says the final could be in sight for Brighton after a 1-0 win over Marseille ensured they avoided the knockout play-offs and topped their group instead.

12:35 - West Ham... Why not?

The TNT Sports team believe West Ham can go the distance in the Europa League after topping their group and winning the Conference League last season.

12:20 - That concludes the draw!

All below. The standout tie? Arguably Feyenoord versus Roma – a repeat of the Conference League final in 2022! Roma won 1-0 on that occasion, and it's safe to say they have become familiar opponents.
They also squared off in the Europa League quarter-finals back in April - Feyenoord won the first leg at home 1-0 before Roma turned it around with a 4-1 win in the second leg.

12:10 - Time for the draw

Giorgio Marchetti returns, too, and he invites 2006 and 2007 UEFA Cup winner with Sevilla, Julien Escude, to the stage.
“Leverkusen are doing well, so they could be favourites. But outsiders are maybe West Ham, who won [the Conference League] least season.”
Both Leverkusen and West Ham won their groups, so aren’t in today’s draw.
Nevertheless, we’re good to get going!

12:02 - Back on stage

The cracking Europa League anthem plays out and that means it’s time…

12:00 - Teams in Europa League draw

The Europa League runners-up are in one pot:
  • Freiburg
  • Marseille
  • Qarabag
  • Rennes
  • Roma
  • Sparta Prague
  • Sporting CP
  • Toulouse

And they can face the following, who dropped down from the Champions League:

  • Benfica
  • Braga
  • Feyenoord
  • Galatasaray
  • Lens
  • Milan
  • Shakhtar Donetsk
  • Young Boys

11.55 - Europa League time

Right then, onto the Europa League draw, which is for the knockout round play-off ahead of the last 16.
This play-off round welcomes Champions League third-placed teams to the fold, where they will take on a Europa League group runner-up for a place in the round of 16.
That means Liverpool, West Ham and Brighton are not involved in this draw – although of course they will have a keen eye on how this round plays out.

11.30 - Standout tie?

You’ve have to say Serie A champions Napoli against Barcelona. They last met in this competition at this very stage in 2019-20 when Barca won 4-2 on aggregate.
The tables have turned since, though, and this one is almost too close to call. Barca are off the pace in La Liga, but so too are Napoli in Serie A.
Nevertheless, one side has a great chance to make a statement in Europe.

Champions League last-16 draw

Porto v Arsenal
Napoli v Barcelona
PSG v Real Sociedad
Inter v Atletico Madrid
PSV Eindhoven v Borussia Dortmund
Lazio v Bayern Munich
Copenhagen v Manchester City
RB Leipzig v Real Madrid

Leipzig v Real Madrid

And a huge tie for Leipzig! That concludes the draw.

Copenhagen v Man City

Back at this stage for the first time since 2011, for Copenhagen it’s the small matter of taking on the holders…

Lazio v Bayern Munich

The quarter-finalists in 2000 against the six-time winners. A big ask for Lazio.

PSV v Borussia Dortmund

The 1988 European Cup winners face the 1997 winners…

Inter v Atletico Madrid

Last year’s losing finalists are up against the three-time finalists.

PSG v Real Sociedad

You’d have to say, PSG will take that after finishing runners-up!

Napoli v Barcelona

The Serie A champions face five-time Champions League winners Barcelona. A tasty tie…

Porto v Arsenal

The 1987 and 2004 winners take on the Gunners!

11:12 - And we're ready!

A reminder of the teams in the draw. Let's get going then shall we...
Group winners:
  • Arsenal
  • Atletico Madrid
  • Barcelona
  • Bayern Munich
  • Borussia Dortmund
  • Manchester City
  • Real Madrid
  • Real Sociedad
Runners-up:
  • Copenhagen
  • Inter
  • Lazio
  • Leipzig
  • Napoli
  • PSG
  • Porto
  • PSV Eindhoven

11:11 - Terry backing Real Madrid

Former Chelsea captain John Terry, a winner of this competition in 2012, is also on the stage to help with the draw…
He reflects: “Playing against Barcelona in 2004-05, the best team I’ve faced with the best players in the world. It was difficult but great memories.
“Two of the [toughest players to face], Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho, Messi was my side of the pitch, unfortunately for me. Looking back it was a privilege to play alongside those guys.
And who is Terry backing?
“Team wise you have to look at Real Madrid. They’ve been fantastic for the past seven, eight years and are always there. [Jude] Bellingham is an incredible individual and Carlo [Ancelotti] is a great man manager. I think they’ll go a long way.”

11:06 - Here's Marchetti

It’s montage o’clock at the draw ceremony in Nyon, Switzerland and the countdown is properly on.
We’re moments away from the draw, and you know that’s the case with Giorgio Marchetti taking to the stage…

11:00 - And we're live!

10:52 - And what about Arsenal?

Any runner-up but PSV. There’s a few there that they’d prefer to avoid, but ask any Arsenal fan right now and they’d be confident of their chances no matter the opponent.
So that’s one of:
  • Copenhagen
  • Inter
  • Lazio
  • Leipzig
  • Napoli
  • PSG
  • Porto

10:48 - Who could Man City face?

Anyone but Leipzig, essentially, which means a rematch of last season’s final against Inter is possible...
  • Copenhagen
  • Inter
  • Lazio
  • Napoli
  • PSG
  • Porto
  • PSV Eindhoven

10:45 - Last 16 dates

The last 16 matches will take place in February and March.
The first legs are scheduled for February 13/14/20/21.
The return legs are then on March 5/6/12/13.

  • Real Madrid
