UEFA Europa Conference League draw: Aston Villa v Lille in quarter-finals, could meet Olympiakos or Fenerbahce in semis

Aston Villa will face off against Lille in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-finals, and could come up against Olympiakos or Fenerbahce in the semi-finals after the draw was made on Friday.

The Villans knocked out Ajax in the round of 16 as they progressed to the last eight, and their reward is a clash with Paulo Fonseca's Ligue 1 side, who beat Sturm Graz 4-1 on aggregate in the last 16.

The encounter represents a chance for Villa boss Unai Emery to continue his remarkable record in European competition, with four UEFA Europa League titles on his CV - three with Sevilla and one with Villarreal.

Olympiacos clashing with Fenerbahce looks like one of the standout ties of the round, pitting together the Greek side - who somehow recovered from a 4-1 deficit in their last-16 first leg to qualify - with the Turkish giants, who are locked in a compelling battle for the Super Lig title with fierce rivals Galatasaray.

Last season's beaten finalists Fiorentina - who lost the 2023 showpiece to West Ham - will meet Viktoria Plzen in the last eight.

The quarter-final first legs will be played on April 11, with the second legs on April 18. The semi-finals will follow on May 2 (first legs) and May 9 (second legs).

The final of this year's Europa Conference League takes place in Athens on May 29.

Earlier in the day, the draws for the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League quarter-finals were made.

In the former, Arsenal came out of the hat against Bayern Munich, while Manchester City will take on Real Madrid.

In the latter, Liverpool were drawn with Serie A outfit Atalanta, while West Ham saw themselves paired with Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen side.
