In similar fashion to previous years, Spain's top two clubs dominated the list with 2015 Champions League winners Barcelona having five players featured.
Lionel Messi received the most votes (448,445), while Bayern Munich's David Alaba followed in second place with an impressive 433,244 votes.
The 40-man shortlist originally included five players from the Premier League, including Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, although neither of them made it onto the final list.
Almost eight million votes were cast by UEFA.com users, according to statistics published by European football's governing body.
