UFC superstar Conor McGregor has revealed in a press conference that Cristiano Ronaldo has extended his contract at Real Madrid.

The Irishman was asked about being ahead of the Portugal captain on the Forbes rich list, prompting the fighter to let the news slip.

"Being ahead of Ronaldo in the Forbes list? He just told me that he signed a contract extension with Real Madrid, so that will be tough," said McGregor.

Ronaldo has openly admitted he would be content with seeing his playing days out at the Bernabeu, but if this becomes official remains to be seen.

McGregor and Ronaldo were recently pictured training together with matching shorts at a training session after the Portuguese's efforts at Euro 2016.
