Watford and West Bromwich Albion were the big casualties on an action-packed night in the EFL Cup second round.
Premier League Watford rang the changes for their tie with Gillingham and looked to be scraping through thanks to a second half goal from Odion Ighalo. But a late Mark Byrne equalizer took the game to extra time and Bradley Dack completed the upset in the 102nd minute.
West Brom were taken to penalties by League One's Northampton Town, who got the better of Tony Pulis’ side 5-4 in the shootout.
Elsewhere there were routine wins for Premier League sides Liverpool, Everton, Crystal Palace, Hull, Swansea and Stoke, while Norwich’s 6-1 hammering of Coventry was the biggest win of the night.
But Chelsea were made to sweat for a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers, as the League One visitors came from 3-0 down to put Antonio Conte’s side under pressure.
However, a first-half brace from summer signing Michy Batshuayi set up the win, with Moses third Chelsea goal ultimately proving to be the winner.
