England 'ready to face any team and anything' after 'unbelievable' win - Bright

England's quest to win the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand will continue when they face Colombia in the quarter-finals.
Sarina Wiegman’s side overcame a red card to Lauren James to beat Nigeria on penalties in the last 16.
England are undefeated at the tournament and have only conceded one goal in four matches. Colombia, meanwhile, topped Group H, earning a shock win over Germany in the process.
They then won 1-0 in the last 16 against Jamaica, who were runners-up in their group, going unbeaten in a section featuring France, Brazil and Panama.

What will England do without James?

Lauren James’ red card ultimately didn’t cost England in the last 16, but what will it mean for their chances going forward?
James did not start the opening game of the tournament but was still England’s standout player in the group stage, scoring the winner against Denmark and then having a hand in five goals in the 6-1 win over China.
James, who has apologised for the stamp on Michelle Alozie that led to her being sent off, will be suspended against Colombia and may miss the rest of the tournament depending on the outcome of a review by a FIFA disciplinary panel.
Sarina Wiegman started the World Cup without James in the XI and may now return to the midfield of Keira Walsh, Ella Toone and Georgia Stanway that featured in the opener against Haiti.
It was feared that Walsh could miss several games following an injury against Denmark, but she returned against Nigeria and played 120 minutes.
