To be fair to the Ivorian midfielder, Sergio Aguero is unlikely to feel miffed missing out to Pele nor Vincent Kompany in being omitted for Franz Beckenbauer.
There was also no room for Cristiano Ronaldo either, with Toure opting for a mighty four-man midfield of Diego Maradona, Zinedine Zidane, Patrick Vieira and the Real Madrid forward’s great rival Lionel Messi.
But his choice of former Manchester United goalkeeper Fabian Barthez will likely produce a few bewildered expressions.

Toure was speaking as part of his role as Nissan’s global ambassador.
Toure’s ultimate team: Barthez; Cafu, Franco Baresi, Franz Beckenbauer, Paolo Maldini; Lioenl Messi, Patrick Vieira, Zinedine Zidane, Diego Maradona; Pele, Roberto Baggio.
