Hungary's Zsolt Baumgartner will replace Briton Ralph Firman as a Jordan driver at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday. Medical delegate Professor Sid Watkins ruled Firman out of the race after reporting an inner ear problem following a crash in Hungary three weeks ago.

Baumgartner's debut at the Hungaroring on August 24 made him the first Hungarian to compete in a Formula One Grand Prix. He retired from that race after 34 laps.
The governing FIA said in a statement on Friday that race stewards had agreed to a team request for rookie Firman to be substituted by Baumgartner.
The Hungarian tested for Jordan at Monza last week and was already scheduled before the announcement to take part in a two- hour session on Friday.
