Formula One's governing body, the FIA has asked BMW to change their rear wing before next week's French Grand Prix after rival team's claimed it was flexing at high speeds during the Canadian event in Montreal.

The uproar over the flexing wing issue began earlier in the year with Ferrari at the centre of attention when team's claimed that the main element was flattening out at high speeds to reduce drag while providing optimum downforce through corners.
Many teams view this technology as dangerous, supported by the FIA's outlawing of flexible wings 45 years ago after failures caused serious accidents.
Honda Racing had threatened to make an official complaint at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve with photographic evidence supporting their claim and, despite Japanese team taking no further action, the FIA decided to investigate the rear wing separators during the American GP.
BMW were consequently asked to stiffen parts of the wing before the next round, according to Autosport magazine on Thursday.
