Problems for Vettel out there as he goes straight on hitting a chicane. Webber, Massa, Vetttel, Rosberg, Button and Hamilton are the top six with a couple of minutes to go of this session.

Alonso remember on softer tyres. Rosberg and Schumacher are running with new tyre options and little fuel, but Schumy is not happy with the set-up. All starting to heat up now.

Rosberg, Vettel, Schumacher, Webber, Button and Hamilton. Your top six heading for the final 10 minutes. German flag is flying high over Monza at the moment.

Jenson Button's car is getting a serious going over in the garage. Changing torsion bars as they try to get him out for another couple of laps. Alonso going for it on soft tyres.

Schumacher is unhappy with his set-up despite being up in third spot. Rosberg, Vettel, Schumacher, Webber, Button and Hamilton. That is your top six.

Kamui Kobayashi almost spins off the track in his Sauber out of the second Lesmo corner. He spins on the gravel before recovering the situation. Rosberg is cooking in this practice session as he continues to lead the pack.

Red Bull v McLaren this weekend or can the Ferraris make an impact? Rosberg now fastest with a 1.23.875 lap. Rosberg, Vettel, Webber, Button, Hamilton and Massa. That is your top six.

Luca di Montezemolo will be wondering what is going on with his Ferraris. They are down in seventh and eighth, respectively. Jenson Button is not happy with his car and he continues to voice his displeasure over the radio.

Vettel now at the head of the pack with a 1.24.00. That is faster than his best effort yesterday when he posted 1.24.010. Vettel, Webber, Button, Hamilton, Rosberg and Maldonado are your top six.

Vettel in fifth place at the moment. Webber, Button, Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel and Maldonado. That is your top six so far. A constantly changing picture as you can imagine.

Jenson uses head and shoulders, and he is head and shoulders above the rest of the pack so far this morning. A lap of 1:24.489 from the Great Brit before Aussie Webber comes up with a run of 1:24.468....all coming along nicely...

While Luca di Montezemolo continues his meet-and-greet with the local fans, Jenson Button can be spotted attacking this track with his usual relish. Rosberg fastest so far with an effort of 1:24.688. Schumacher weighs in with a 1:26.943. And on we go. No new engine for Vettel today for your information.

The president of Ferrari Luca di Montezemolo is out at the side of the track waving to the local fans. Ferrari will be hoping for a big weekend with Massa and Alonso, but at the moment Kovalainen in his Lotus is fastest with a lap of 1:29......expect that to come down considerably.

Michael Schumacher was apparently clobbered with a 400 Euros fine for speeding in the pit lane on Friday. Not sure that will do too much to his bank balance. Anyway, on we go with Ambrosio and Trulli cutting up the track at the moment.

Vitantonio Liuzzi is among the first pack of drivers to begin this morning. The temperature of the track is up at 29 degrees apparently. Hot, hot, hot out there....

We are off and running then in the morning session in Italy. Remember Seb Vettel was fastest in the second practice session at Monza. Read about how he fared below.
