Jenson Button and wife Jessica Michibata split up

Jenson Button has announced that he has split from his wife of one year Jessica Michibata.

Button and Michibata tied the knot last New Year’s Eve and announced their nuptials on social media.

“Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable,” said spokesman for Button.

"There is no-one else involved."

The former Formula One world champion met Michibata in 2008 but the couple split briefly in 2010.

Button, 35, won the world title in 2009 driving for Brawn GP.
