Lewis Hamilton has explained the limits of his self-proclaimed ‘rock and roll lifestyle’, insisting that he knows how far to push his activities away from the F1 circuit.

The two-time world champion eased to victory in Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix and, fresh off the back of a huge new deal with Mercedes, his stock is about as high as it could be.
But the 30-year-old has made it clear that he knows how far to push his fun-loving side away from the car after having claimed that he enjoys a “rock and roll lifestyle” – something which both delighted and disturbed fans.
During F1’s off season, Hamilton was regularly seen jetting around the world, attending showbiz parties, staying on super-yachts with reality TV stars and even shooting scenes in the new Zoolander movie.
Perhaps surprisingly, his extra-curricular jaunts have shown no sign of abating even during the season but Hamilton, who arrived in Canada in a brand new £10 million private jet, is adamant that he is not getting lost in a world that is unhealthy for him.
“It's easy, very, very, easy,” he told the Press Association regarding his sense of personal boundaries.

“I've never even been close to being lost in that sense. It's just the way I was raised.
“I'm not going to get lost, I can do anything I really want to do.
“Jumping off the boat, jumping off rocks, jet skiing, all those things I like to do, I still do them.
“That's me going wild. There's no other way I want to go. What else is there to do?
“I am already living life to the full,” he continued.

“I never ever want to do either (drink or drugs), I can't really understand why people do it. So no. I've never had it (in) my family.”
Hamilton's emphatic victory in Montreal was his fourth victory of the current campaign and he also commented on his tumultuous relationship with Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg at present.
“I do my talking on the track,” he said of the German, who he has frequently clashed with since becoming his team-mate.
“He's driving well and I won the world championship last year and can't just drive the same. I've got to find ways of improving and I've been trying to.
“Nothing needs to be changed massively but I've been trying small things, improve my qualifying, my races are just as strong so I've just got to continue that.
“How do I improve the next race? How do I get the same lead as I had in Monaco again?”
OUR VIEW
As long as Hamilton continues delivering the goods on the track, Mercedes will not care which movies he appears in (within reason) or rocks and boats he jumps off (again, within reason). Hamilton is perfectly entitled to splash £10 million on a private jet to arrive at a Grand Prix in style; he is also perfectly entitled to have fun in his own way when he's not under enormous stress competing in F1 races. It is hardly new or surprising to see a top F1 driver living a 'rock and roll lifestyle' away from the track and, although it was strange to hear Hamilton talking about it himself in such terms, his life will never be remotely normal given all that he is achieving - and indeed earning - at the top level of the flashiest sport around.
