Robert Kubica's Mercedes Formula 1 simulator tests are helping the team as well as assisting the Pole in his path towards a potential grand prix comeback, says the firm's motorsport boss Toto Wolff.

AUTOSPORT understands that Kubica has now had multiple sessions in the simulator at Mercedes' base in Brackley.
Wolff is adamant that there is no long-term plan in place between Kubica and the Mercedes F1 team, but says that his current sessions are mutually beneficial given the Pole's level of grand prix experience.
"Robert is concentrating on rallying, that is his main task," Wolff underlined.
"But everybody knows he is very talented and experienced.
"What we are trying to do with him is give him time in the simulator and you both gain by having him in the simulator.
"He is getting used to driving the F1 car again and we are benefiting from his expertise. It helps the team and it helps him."
Kubica contested 76 grands prix with the BMW and Renault teams before his career was interrupted by his February 2011 rally crash.
He first worked with Mercedes when he tested one of its DTM cars earlier in 2013, before deciding to focus on his rallying programmes for his competitive comeback.
Kubica's next outing is this weekend in the European Rally Championship's Corsica round.
