The Ferrari Formula 1 team has taken a more aggressive approach to its Pirelli tyre choices than its main rival Mercedes for the Singapore Grand Prix.
The race marks only the third appearance of the pink hypersoft tyre, following Monaco and Canada earlier this year.
While Pirelli matched the hypersoft with the supersoft and ultrasoft tyres in Monaco and Canada, it has chosen the soft and ultrasoft tyre for Singapore, leaving out the supersoft. The same combination will also be used at the following race in Russia.
Ferrari has chosen to give Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen nine of the hypersoft compounds along with three ultrasofts and just one set of the soft tyre.
Mercedes has taken a more conservative approach with both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas going for three sets of softs, four sets of ultrasofts and only six of the hypersofts.

Mercedes has chosen the least amount of hypersofts out of all the F1 teams. Other outfits to match Ferrari by taking nine sets of the hypersofts are Force India and Haas.
Renault, Toro Rosso, McLaren and Sauber have gone for eight sets, and Red Bull and Williams seven.
Along with Mercedes others to stock up with three softs are Red Bull, Renault, McLaren and Sauber.
Sauber has only chosen the three sets of softs for Charles Leclerc.
Joining Ferrari on just one set of softs are Toro Rosso, Haas with Kevin Magnussen and Williams in regards to Sergey Sirotkin's options.
Singapore is challenging for the teams because of evolving track temperatures, as free practice one and three are run in sunshine, ahead of qualifying and the race at night. The rear-left tyre is the most stressed tyre on the 23-corner track.
