A terrific lap from Webber - one he really needed to get back on terms with his team-mate. Can he make that pole position stick and win the Spanish Grand Prix tomorrow? Join us for that LIVE tomorrow - the race begins at 13:00 UK time.

The top 10 - Webber, Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Button, Petrov, Rosberg, Massa, Maldonado, Schumacher
0'
A note on Schumacher - he didn't even bother to put a lap time in, knowing he will start 10th tomorrow. Let's see if he can make those tyres count in the race.

Alonso fourth! Somewhere in between the two McLarens, who were only three-hundredths of a second apart, Alonso makes it on to row two. Great effort!

Time up! Who will be fifth? Maldonado edged out by Rosberg, here come the Ferraris...
0'
Maldonado, Rosberg and the Ferraris are out on soft tyres for flying laps to finish. With seconds remaining just four drivers have posted times!
1'
The knock-on consequence, of course, is that the qualifying spectacle is suffering a bit. Vettel gets up and walks away - he won't be on pole today.
2'
Schumacher is out - but on hard tyres - again, interesting strategy move - he'll have a quicker set of soft tyres in reserve for tomorrow.
3'
Vettel considers another set of tyres, but he might be better advised to sit on his second position.
4'
Will any of the six drivers yet to go out even threaten any of those top times? You'd be surprised.

Forget about that! Webber pulls out an extra two-tenths of a second on his team-mate! 1:20.981 - a remarkable time and Vettel's dominance of pole position may be about to end...

Hamilton three-hundredths faster than his team-mate, but Vettel brushes them aside - 1:21.181!
6'
1:21.996 for Button - better than he managed in Q2...
7'
Vettel looks miles faster than Button already - this could be the time that the Red Bull's pace is finally shown.
8'
Button begins his timed lap - Hamilton and Webber also appear on track. Button about four-tenths off Vettel's pace in Q2 at sector one.
9'
First man out is Jenson Button - Seb Vettel follows.

The final shoot-out begins!
-
That's two Red Bulls, two McLarens, two Mercedes, two Ferraris, a Williams and a Renault left to contest the top 10 shoot-out. Good effort from Maldonado in particular to mix it with the established teams.
-
Missing out - Buemi, Perez, Alguersuari, Kobayashi, Kovalainen, Di Resta, Sutil.

Kovalainen, running on the soft tyres, out-qualifies the Force India pair for 15th! A bit of a gimme for Lotus but they'll gratefully take it.
