The innovation of Fanboost sees fans get the opportunity to assist their favourite driver via an extra power surge.
For each race, fans can vote through social media channels which driver they want to receive the boost with the poll closing after the opening six minutes of the race having started six days before.
The three winning Fanboost drivers each receive an extra 100 kJ of energy which can be deployed in a special power window between 180 kW and 200 kW.
