Veteran GP2 driver Luca Filippi will rejoin his old team Coloni for this weekend's Monza round of the GP2 Series.
With former Coloni driver Stefano Coletti having confirmed he is joining Addax this weekend on his official Twitter feed, having quit the team after Spa, Filippi has been drafted in to drive alongside Fabio Onidi.
Filippi enjoyed a strong second half of the 2011 GP2 season with Coloni, winning three times for the team including the Monza feature race.
The 27-year-old then quit the series at the end of the year to try and find a ride in IndyCar.
"We did a great job together last year, and frankly I would have expected Luca to be contacted by some manufacturer for a works programme this season," said team owner Paolo Coloni.
"It didn't happen, and so we thought that an all Italian line-up for our home race would have been the best thing to do.
"With Filippi and Onidi, Coloni is reassessing its role of sole Italian team that helps national talents to get under the spotlight."
