Huelkenberg on pole

Rookie Nico Huelkenberg claimed pole position for the GP2 Asia round in Bahrain ahead of Dams drivers Jerome d'Ambrosio and Kamui Kobayashi.

The German ART Grand Prix man lapped the Sakhir circuit in 1:41.351, over a tenth of a second quicker than d'Ambrosio, with championship leader Kobayashi another five hundredths adrift.
Another rookie, Edoardo Mortara, starts on the second row of the grid for Arden.
Durango's Michael Della Stelle will start from the back of the grid after going off before he could record a timed lap.
Kobayashi went fastest in the morning practice session with Huelkenberg second.
