NHL Network hires Olympic hero Lamoureux-Morando

Being an Olympic hero is paying off for United States women's hockey star Monique Lamoureux-Morando.
The 28-year-old Lamoureux-Morando was hired as an NHL Network studio analyst
on Wednesday and will make her debut Friday on the network's "NHL Tonight"
program.

Lamoureux-Morando scored the tying goal when Team USA defeated Canada to win
the Olympic gold medal last month at the Pyeongchang Games. Her twin sister,
Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson, scored the decisive goal in the shootout.

Both women joined the NHL Network in studio recently to discuss their
performances in the gold medal game, and also performed some hockey analysis.

Lamoureux-Morando does have broadcasting experience. She has served as a color
commentator for North Dakota women's games, the university at which she and
Jocelyne played college hockey.
