Julia Taubitz pips rival Madeleine Egle to Luge World Cup gold

Germany's Julia Taubitz had to fight hard for a landmark 25th victory in the Luge World Cup.
The 27-year-old pipped Austrian rival Madeleine Egle to gold by 0.116 second at her home track in Oberhof.
Egle led after the first run but make some small mistakes in the second as Taubitz took top step in a combined time of 1:24.448 minutes.
Egle dropped back to bronze medal position with Taubitz's compatriot Anna Berreiter joining her on the podium with silver.
Taubitz extended her lead in the overall World Cup standings with 725 points to Egle's 612.
