Jon Jones will no longer fight Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight title at UFC 295. Dana White has confirmed the American suffered an injury that will require surgery and put him out of action until next year. As a result of Jones' withdrawal, White has booked Sergei Pavlovich vs Britain's Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight belt as the co-main event.

Jon Jones has pulled out of the UFC 295 main event through injury, Dana White has confirmed.
Jones was scheduled to take on Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight title on November 11 but suffered a torn tendon in training that will require surgery and leave him out of action until next year.
White also confirmed that Tom Aspinall has been added to the card and will take on Sergei Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight crown.
“Jon Jones was training last night, got injured, he was wrestling and he tore the tendon that connects your pec to the bone, off the bone,” White said on X [Twitter]. “[Out] eight months, going to need surgery.”
With Jones sidelined, the main event at Madison Square Garden will now see Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira battle it out for the vacant light heavyweight title.
Pereira, the former middleweight king, bounced back from losing to Israel Adesanya to beat Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291 to put himself in line for a shot at becoming a two-weight world champion.
Aspinall vs Pavlovich has been added to the stacked card as the co-main event.
Britain’s Aspinall made his mark early in his UFC career, picking up five straight wins from July 2020 to March 2022.
However, he was dealt a blow when he suffered a serious knee injury against Curtis Blaydes in July of last year.
The 30-year-old required surgery but returned in style in July, almost exactly one year later, to defeat Marcin Tybura and put himself back among the heavyweight contenders.
But he arguably faces his toughest test to date against Pavlovich. The 31-year-old is on a six-fight win streak, knocking out all of his opponents in the first round on his devastating run to a title fight.
