UFC: Dana White confirms Strickland v Du Plessis, Volkanovski v Topuria and O'Malley v Vera title fights for 2024

With the end of the year approaching, UFC president Dana White is looking past the upcoming bout in New York City, where Sergei Pavlovich fights Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight title, live on TNT Sports and discovery+. For 2024's coming events he announced three UFC world title fights, with one taking place in each of January, February and March of next year.

UFC president Dana White has confirmed three massive fights for UFC 297, 298 and 299 respectively in 2024 - all live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
In a video posted on his social media account, White confirmed three world championship bouts, one each for the three planned events.
In January 2024, the first title fight is Sean Strickland against Dricus Du Plessis. The 32-year-old American became the UFC middleweight champion in a massive upset win over Israel Adesanya in September at UFC 293.
Du Plessis’ most recent fight was against Robert Whittaker in July, when he won by TKO at UFC 290.
Then in February, Alex Volkanovski returns following his .
He will put his featherweight belt on the line against Ilia Topuria, whose most recent action was a win over Josh Emmett in June.
March sees 'Sugar' Sean O’Malley defend his UFC bantamweight strap against Marlon Vera, having won the belt from Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 in August.
Vera returned to winning ways at the same event, defeating Pedro Munhoz.
White said: “In January, we’re doing Sean Strickland v Dricus Du Plessis.
“In February, we’re doing Volkanovski v Topuria, and in March we’re doing O’Malley v Vera.
“Busting into the new year with some fun fights. I’ll see you guys in New York City.”
UFC 295 will be held this Saturday in New York, shown live on TNT Sports and discovery+. Jiri Prochazka v Alex Pereira headlines the event, with a co-main of Sergei Pavlovich against Britain’s Tom Aspinall for the interim heavyweight championship.
