Thanks for joining us today - next up is Motegi, Japan in two weeks!

0'

Simoncelli appears to have taken Spies for fourth, well done in the end, Bautista sixth, Hayden seventh, Barbera eighth and Crutchlow ninth. Rossi sneaks into the top 10.

0'

CASEY STONER WINS THE ARAGON GP! Easy as you like, about 8s on Pedrosa to extend his championship lead. Lorenzo, second in the championship, holds on to the podium.

1'

Into the last lap now as Stoner continues to pick up speed but back in the hunt for the minor places with Aoyama and Rossi scrapping away. Crutchlow should hold on to ninth, with Rossi fighting just to keep 10th. Aoyama takes Rossi and has a go at Crutchlow but he effectively flips him the bird to shrug him off. Aoyama sheepishly drops back.

2'

Rossi is struggling now and will be lucky to make top 10. Aoyama is catching him now.

3'

It's all spreading out nicely now, Stoner still 6s clear of Pedrosa, and Lorenzo now with a commanding 7s lead on Simoncelli. Spies a few seconds off in fifth, with a bunch from sixth to 12th. That bunch includes Rossi but he's gone off the boil.

4'

Stoner is coasting along now. The championship leader is well on course for his fourth win in five races.

5'

Barbera touches Hayden, shoving him wide but no crash.

7'

Ow. Capirossi goes into Elias's backside and the pair fly off. Up and healthy. Loris says sorry, and Elias sportingly makes sure he's okay even though it was Loris's bad.

8'

Rossi is moving up now, he's only about 7s off Spies now... CRASH! Elias and another...

9'

A 4-5 second lead for Stoner. The Aussie is on fire today, flawless so far. Up to 6s now, Pedrosa comfortable in second though with an even bigger lead on Lorenzo and Spies tussling for third. That's the big battle now.

-

Dovizioso: "I made small slide on the right when the tyre wasn't 100% maybe. The front tyre wasn't hot enough and it couldn't take my weight. I'm realy sorry for the team, it's really bad because we are still third in the championship. It was my first mistake of the year but I made it at a bad moment."

10'

Lorenzo is bullying Spies now, which is annoying the American.

11'

So Simoncelli is out of it for now as Lorenzo puts some pressure on Spies in third. This race is Stoner's to lose, he's dominating from the front.

12'

Bautista passes Hayden with a cheeky slide in the inside but Hayden claws it back nice and quick. Bautista still on him. Good battle this for sixth. Hayden runs a bit wide though and Bautista should make some ground here... Ha, this is an enthralling ruck as they keep swapping round with aggressive moves in and outside.

13'

Simoncelli runs wide! Spies regains third. Too aggro from Simoncelli into the bend and he flew out into the slip road. He's lost his momentum though and that's probably his podium hopes over.

14'

... Yup, Simoncelli takes Spies but he isn't going to shake him off easily.

15'

No change at the front then as Stoner leads Pedrosa and Spies but Simoncelli is on the American's tail...

16'

Stoner has a 2s lead over Pedrosa, Spies back in third now. Good recovery but Simoncelli is tailing him having worked his way up as we predicted.

17'

Sharp move from Rossi as he continues to move up into the top 10... After a poor qualifying and an even worse start he is doing his best to make some ground. Crutchlow is also moving up, now in ninth...

18'

Crutchlow makes some hay and moves into the top 10... Rossi still harassing away, on Edwards's tail now and he moves past into 12th.

19'

Stoner leading from the front - a fastest lap of 1:49 from him.

20'

So while Spies did not crash he has slipped back a bit, which is why I thought he may have gone. Rossi makes a move on Capirossi, having somehow lost a few places on the start, despite two men down... De Puniet has suffered from that Abraham clash and is way back.

21'

Ok so after that crazed start the race has settled. Simoncelli is sitting tight and waiting to pounce I think.

22'

Okay so the first crash was Karel Abraham clashing with De Puniet. What a shame for Abraham after his qualifying session, where he placed top 10, and he's a bit injured too... on his feet but hurt.

23'

Dovizioso has gone as well! Stoner is flying by the way! It wasn't Spies who went by the way... I think Dovizioso has got back on the horse...

23'

The race is underway! And there's a crash! Crazy start, Stoner stays in front after a manic turn and I think it's Spies who's gone!

12:55

They're out warming up now...

12:50

Casey Stoner is on pole after setting a lap record yesterday - his ninth pole of the season, with Dani Pedrosa also front row and Ben Spies starting in third. Valentino Rossi is back in 13th but never count him out, also Marco Simoncelli starts sixth, watch out for him in the cooler temperatures.
