Francesco Bagnaia extended his lead in the MotoGP world championship as he won the full-length race at the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday.
The Ducati Lenovo rider added to his Sprint Race victory when he came in five seconds clear of Brad Binder, as the KTM rider crowned a decent performance with second place.
The current world champion is now 62 points clear of his nearest rival, Jorge Martin.
Marco Bezzecchi took third place on the podium on his VR46 Ducati, having failed to finish in Saturday’s sprint.
Bagnaia and Binder pulled away early as Luca Marini slid out on Turn 1 to hamper the rest of the pack around him, and the leading pair were clear after the first lap.
The KTM rider pushed hard to challenge his Italian rival but was unable to seize on a chance on the fourth lap, and by Lap 11, Bagnaia was able to move clear, and by Lap 22 his lead was more than four seconds.
Gresini’s Alex Marquez had looked set to take third spot until a spirited and enduring challenge from Bezzecchi finally saw rewards on Turn 9 on Lap 22, before Marini took fourth from Marquez, who finished fifth.
Sixth place went to Maverick Vinales who had slipped down to 11th early on, while Martin finished in seventh after his long lap penalty due to causing a crash in the Sprint.
Fabio Quartararo was eighth, while Aleix Espargaro and Enea Bastianini were ninth and 10th respectively.
