Aleix Espargaro had gone a long time without a MotoGP win, but set that right with a superb success in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Spaniard produced a daring move to pass championship leader Francesco Bagnaia on the final lap on Sunday to take the race win. Espargaro said he felt brilliant on his bike on the day, and was not fazed when rain began to fall.

Aleix Espargaro said he felt invincible on his Aprilla as he claimed a second win in MotoGP with victory in the British Grand Prix.
Starting the race in 12th, the Spaniard worked his way through the field, and emerged as the main challenger to championship leader Francesco Bagnaia after Marco Bezzecchi crashed out.
Bagnaia looked like he had done enough to fend off the challengers, but in wet conditions Espargaro made a daring move on the final lap and went on to take the win.
Espargaro is a veteran of the paddock with 225 races under his belt, and he revelled in the victory.
“It was crazy,” Espargaro said on TNT Sports. “From Lap 1, even starting in 12th, I felt super-good with the bike.
“It is one of those days where you feel invincible. The bike was turning, a lot of grip and braking stability.”

Rain began to fall with seven laps remaining in the race, and things got tight at the front.
Espargaro felt he had good pace, but left it late to make his race-winning move.
”When it started to rain my plan was to try and pass him and go away,” Espargaro said. “But when it started to rain I felt best to stay quiet and stay behind Pecco.
“On the last lap I had something more.
“The last laps were dramatic, riders coming from behind. It was very slippery, so it was quite scary in the last part.”
