BYE FOR NOW

That's it for the Spanish GP - thank you for your company today.

The series returns in two weeks from now for the French GP in Le Mans - see you then!

14:13

BAGNAIA POST-RACE

"The most important thing has been the first lap, the overtake around the outside was important. And then I just tried to push the guys at the front and Jorge [Martin] made a mistake going too strong on the brakes at Turn 6. But I enjoyed it a lot; when fighting with Marc [Marquez] you know you have to be aggressive and, finally, it was very good."

14:02

MARQUEZ POST-RACE

"It was a super important race. In the beginning I was a little bit stiff - you know, I crashed in Austin, I crashed yesterday and in the beginning with the full tank and everything I was a bit stiff and lost positions. But the speed was there to come back, the speed was there to fight with Bagnaia. It was a tight fight, like old times - it was good racing! I tried to close the door, he was inside and that's what happens in racing. The last lap, he was super good, and I tried to follow him, but he had a bit more. But I'm super happy about this podium. It doesn't matter what happened in the past, I just want to fight until the end."

13:57

BEZZECCHI POST-RACE

"I'm very happy because the beginning of this year and also the end of last year for me was tough and to bounce back here in Jerez where last year I also struggled a lot is very nice. I'm very happy, I'm very grateful to my team, they never stopped believing in me and always give me the right support."

25/25

BAGNAIA WINS IN JEREZ

Bagnaia holds Marquez at bay and takes the chequered flag to win in Jerez. Bezzecchi completes the podium.

25/25

ADVANTAGE BAGNAIA

It looks Bagnaia's for the taking with about half a second between him and Marquez.

24/25

BAGNAIA SEEKS ESCAPE

Some excellent sector times from Bagnaia who is putting breathing space between himself and Marquez.

23/25

MAQUEZ NOT CLOSE ENOUGH

No attack on this lap with Marquez not quite in striking distance.

22/25

ANOTHER ATTACK AT ASPAR CORNER

Marquez tries again at Turn 9, but this time he can't make it stick, goes wide and Bagnaia retaliates on the cut-back immediately.

21/25

MARQUEZ ATTACKS

Marquez dives down the inside at Aspar corner, but Bagnaia fights back and defends P1.

21/25

CAUGHT!

Marquez is now in touching distance of Bagnaia.

20/25

LESS THAN HALF A SECOND

This is the closest it has been so far, around half a second between Bagnaia and Marquez.

19/25

FIGHT FOR FIFTH

Away from the front, it's getting feisty between Binder and Bastianini for fifth. The KTM is holding firm for now.

18/25

BAGNAIA RESPONDS

Bagnaia smells danger and sets some great sector times to maintain the gap.

17/25

It's now a second between Bezzecchi and Marquez.

15/25

TOP POSITIONS GET CLOSER

Marquez is taking a bit of time out of Bagnaia, but the gap is still quite significant at this point. Bezzecchi is around six tenths behind.

14/25

MARQUEZ INTO SECOND

Marquez dives down the inside and makes it stick to take second off Bezzecchi. He immediately puts some space between them.

13/25

MARQUEZ CLOSES IN

Bezzecchi runs wide at the final corner and M Marquez is right back on his rear tyre again.

12/25

GAPS IN THE TOP THREE

While Bagnaia is in a lonely lead, almost a second ahead of Bezzecchi, Bezzecchi has put half a second between himself and M Marquez.

11/25

MARTIN DOWN

Martin's front folds at Turn 6 and down the Spaniard goes. Bagnaia is left in a lonely lead.

10/25

ORDER REMAINS FOR NOW

It's still Martin and Bagnaia with a gap over Bezzecchi and M Marquez. However, the gap between fourth and fifth that had looked to be coming down, has remained constant.

9/25

CHASING DUO BEING REELED IN

It's getting worse for Bezzecchi and A Marquez who not only can't match Martin and Bagnaia, the group led by A Marquez looks to be gradually catching them.

8/25

FRONT DUO PREVAIL

Martin and Bagnaia are now clearly breaking away, Bezzecchi and Marquez unable to match their pace.

7/25

FIGHT FOR FIFTH

While there's two duos at the front, things are heating up for fifth where A Marquez is being stalked by Binder, Oliveira, Bastianini.

6/25

GAP INCREASES

It's almost half a second in the front duo's favour now. M Marquez is the fastest rider on track though and you feel like he'll need to get past Bezzecchi swiftly to not let the front duo escape.

5/25

FRONT DUO TRYING TO ESCAPE?

Looks like Martin and Bagnaia are keen to make a break here, three tenths separating them from Bezzecchi. Meanwhile, a massive gap has opened between the Marquez brothers in fourth and fifth.

4/25

BEZZECCHI INTO THIRD

Nice move from Bezzecchi who takes third off M Marquez.

4/25

SLIGHT BREAK AT THE FRONT

The top five now have half a second over the rest of the field, Binder the first chaser in sixth. It's:

  1. Martin
  2. Bagnaia
  3. M Marquez
  4. Bezzecchi
  5. A Marquez
2/25

MARTIN HITS THE FRONT

Error from Bagnaia and Martin claims the lead. Marquez too tries to overtake, but Bagnaia catches him going onto start/finish.

2/25

BATTLE FOR THE LEAD

It's Bagnaia versus Marquez versus Martin for the lead and the Italian prevails for now.

1/25

BAGNAIA TAKES THE LEAD

It's Bagnaia on a mission and he dives down Marquez' inside to take the lead.

1/25

BAGNAIA INTO SECOND

What a move from Bagnaia who goes around the outside of Bezzecchi and Martin to move into second.

12:45

WILDCARD SENSATION PEDROSA HUNTING MORE POINTS

Coming in as a wildcard this weekend, Dani Pedrosa took a sensational podium in yesterday's Sprint. The KTM test rider is hoping for another positive performance today:

"From the first few laps when I saw some riders going down, I decided to turn things down down a bit and go for a smarter race. I followed Fabio [Quartararo] and, at the end, I didn't know we where fighting for a podium. We got the P3 which is amazing for my team. In testing we don't have these emotions and experiences, so to get this gift for them is special.

"I think [the podium might be a bit of a stretch in the GP race] because you have to run a great pace and make a good start. Starting from 16th is not easy, in the first two corners and on the first lap you already lose a lot. But we will try to do some recovery, and we will try to run a good pace, and if we get some valueable points we are happy."

12:40

ACOSTA GOING FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

Having bagged his first Sprint podium yesterday, incredibly, rookie sensation Pedro Acosta is now sitting second in the championship standings. The 19-year-old Spaniard is keeps going from strength to strength:

"We're on the way, we're improving. Yesterday was the first time in two years that I was really competitive in the wet, so I'm super happy about that. We are improving in all areas!

"I'm not thinking about the result [for the GP race]. Nobody expected [us to be second in the championship], but I'm trying to not think too much about it and just stay calm."

12:35

MARQUEZ OPTIMISTIC DESPITE SPRINT CRASH

Despite crashing out of the lead in yesterday's Sprint, Marc Marquez is still feeling confident ahead of the GP races and about his situation in the championship overall:

"Of course I'm disappointed, of course I want to learn from the mistakes, but every time I'm feeling closer, and closer, and closer and that gives me confidence. We crashed, but not due to over-riding, I just hit a wet patch and lost the front. It was super difficult to control everything, but we did the most difficult thing: lead the race and then make a comeback. I don't want to think too much about the championship, just about that I have a plan and the plan is going well.

"Let's see what happens in the long race. With the medium tyre, it maybe changes the situation a bit. It will be super interesting to understand the grip level we have during the race and we will see. But Martin, Binder, and maybe Vinales, Bagnaia, Acosta will arrive and it will be a good race."

12:30

MARTIN CONFIDENT FOR MORE POINTS

It has all been going Jorge Martin's way so far this season, yesterday's Sprint being the latest exhibit when he managed to be one of the few riders to brave the conditions. The world championship leader is confident that he can achieve more of the same:

"At Turn 5, it was really difficult to see the damp patches and very easy to go down ... Turn 8, Turn 9, last corner - it was really difficult to finish and we did it. I think we used a lot of experience to finish and get the most points possible. Hopefully, we can improve and also fight for the victory [in the GP race].

For sure, there are some riders with pace, at least for the first laps. Then I feel confident we are strong enough to fight for the victory. We saw [in the Sprint] that maybe Marc [Marquez] was a bit more competitive on the soft tyre, let's see how it goes with the medium. But I feel we can achieve a good result and hopefully we can make it to the podium."

12:20
