Back comes Rossi on his next flying lap... and he goes P3 again! Pedrosa and Stoner leading the way with the Yamaha factory duo following ahead of Spies and Randy de Puniet.
Lorenzo is left in fifth... but takes that third spot for himself.

Spies again improves but stays third. Former world champion Hayden sitting in the garage - and currently second-to-bottom. Oh dear.
Spies improving all the time, although it is not enough yet to go P1 or P2.

Simoncelli improves from 13th to 12th - better from the wild-haired one.
Rossi looks for a front-row spot... but is only fourth after crossing in the 1:35s.

Repsol Honda's Pedrosa leads the way now with 1:34.402.
And the Texan climbs into fifth above his compatriot and Tech 3 team-mate.
Stoner's mark, 1:34.457, compares with the following riders thus: Pedrosa .723, Lorenzo .884, Rossi .947. Spies and Edwards follow in the low 1:35s.
Lorenzo is heading for a first premier crown this season.

Nicky Hayden has a ridiculous zig-zagged shave line along the side of his head. He will race alongside Rossi at Ducati, the home team this weekend, next year.
Rossi is in the pits but re-emerging. He stands third behind Pedrosa and ahead of team-mate Lorenzo.
Spies looks tasty on this lap on the Tech 3, but loses pace when his back wheels lifts off. He stays sixth.
Melandri is doing well on his satellite bike in eighth. He's been as high as sixth.
He didn't race here last year due to that illness.

Pedrosa's time holding up and he has a quarter-of-a-second advantage on everyone else, although he cannot improve his mark.

Hector Barbera, eighth fastest this morning, in the gravel! Dani Pedrosa goes top with 1:34.993.
Lorenzo back at the top with 1:35.321, only for Stoner to sneak back ahead of him with 1:35.004. We're getting to the point where the times won't be improved on each and every lap.
Stoner improves to 1:35.546.
LORENZO HAS A WOBBLE! He does well to stay on the Fiat Yamaha bike as he gets out of shape. Blimey.
Casey Stoner lays down 1:36.207 for P1 as the times continue to tumble.
