Dilano van 't Hoff: Tributes pour in from Adam Fitzgerald, Lewis Hamilton and motorsport after driver dies aged 18

Dutchman Dilano van 't Hoff tragically died on Saturday after a multi-car collision at Spa-Francorchamps. The 18-year-old, who won the 2021 F4 Spanish Championship, was driving for MP Motorsport in the Formula Regional European Championship. Tributes have poured in from the world of motorsport and F1, including Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

Adam Fitzgerald was among those to pay tribute to Dilano van 't Hoff, who died after an accident in the Formula Regional European Championship at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday.
Van 't Hoff, 18, was involved in a multi-car collision in wet conditions during the final race of the weekend after Raidillon. The race was red flagged and not restarted.
Fitzgerald, who is in "a stable condition” after his involvement in the crash according to The Irish Independent , took to Instagram on Monday to pay tribute to the driver.
"I have no words for Dilano's family other than I am truly heartbroken for them," the Irishman said.
"They and Dilano are constantly in my thoughts. I just don't know what to say other than my heart is broken for them.
"Rest in peace Dilano."
The incident occurred four years after Anthoine Hubert was killed in a multiple-car crash in an F2 race on the same section of the track.
Van ’t Hoff’s team MP Motorsport issued a statement which said: "We are devastated at the loss of one of our brightest Dutch talents, who brought so much energy to our team during the years he raced with us.
"Dilano has been a part of our racing family since his motorsport debut with MP back in 2021. We offer our sincere condolences to Dilano’s family and his loved ones, and are in full support of them and our team members who have lost not only a driver but a friend as well."
A minute's silence was held in his honour ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday.
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said on Saturday: “We are so sad to learn of the passing of Dilano van ’t Hoff today at Spa-Francorchamps. Dilano died in pursuit of his dream to reach the pinnacle of motor sport. Along with the entire motorsport community, our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”
An FIA statement read: "The FIA extends its condolences to the family and friends of Dilano van 't Hoff and to the MP Motorsport Team following the incident today during the Formula Regional European Championship event at Spa-Francorchamps."
Reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen also took to Twitter to pay his respects.
He wrote: "Extremely sad to head the news about Dilano today... I want to send my condolences to Dilano's family and loved ones. Rest in peace."
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton wrote on his Instagram story: "Heartbreaking. My thoughts are with his family".
