When is SummerSlam and how to watch on TNT Sports Box Office? Who's fighting? Which belts are on the line?

When is SummerSlam? How to watch on TV in the UK? What time does it start in the UK? Who's fighting at SummerSlam and which titles are up for grabs? One of the biggest events of the WWE calendar is coming up and Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Asuka are among those in action. There's also a Battle Royal on the card. Here's all you need to know about the event.

SummerSlam is almost here. The 36th edition of one of WWE’s leading events will take place at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
It will be the first WWE event to be held at the venue since WrestleMania 23 in 2007. It will feature some of the biggest names from Raw and SmackDown, with several title fights, including for the WWE Universal Championship.
Here’s everything you need know about SummerSlam 2023, including how to watch with TNT Sports and who’s on the card.

When is SummerSlam?

SummerSlam is on Saturday, August 5.
The card will start at around 01:00 on Sunday, UK time.

How to watch SummerSlam?

TNT Sports Box Office will show SummerSlam live on UK TV.
  • Virgin Media TV customers in the UK: customers with a TiVo and/or V6 set-top-box should visit the On-Demand section and choose Live Events; customers with a Virgin TV360 and/or Stream set-top-box should go to the Pay Per View Live Events rail
  • BT TV customers can go to channel 494 and pay using their remote control. Viewers wanting to watch the fight online should visit www.tntsports.co.uk/boxoffice and follow instructions to subscribe and watch on the web or on the TNT Sports Box Office App, customers can choose to watch on the big screen using Google Chromecast and Apple Airplay
  • EE, Three, Vodafone and O2 customers watching online or via the TNT Sports Box Office App can choose to add the payment to their mobile bill
  • Sky customers can purchase TNT Sports Box Office on channel 490 via their remote control or via https://www.sky.com/boxoffice/tnt (from the 18th July)
  • Customers in the Republic of Ireland can purchase TNT Sports Box Office via Sky at https://www.sky.com/boxoffice/tnt (from the 18th July) - €29.99 or €34.99 (on the day)

Who’s fighting at SummerSlam?

There are currently eight fights scheduled for SummerSlam 2023.
Here’s what’s in store:
  • WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso
Jey Uso will look to dethrone Roman Reigns and win the Universal Championship. It’s Tribal Combat which means anything goes – no disqualification – and the only way to win is by pinfall or submission.
  • Women’s Championship: Asuka (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair
Will Asuka retain her title in a Triple Threat match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair?
  • World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor
Seth Rollins and Finn Balor first faced each other back at SummerSlam in 2016. The rivalry continues at SummerSlam 2023, but will Balor get the better of Rollins as he did in their first meeting?
  • Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
Gunther has now held the Intercontinental Championship belt for over 400 days. Will Drew McIntyre take the title from him?
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
This will be the third meeting between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar. Rhodes won their first fight at Backlash and Lesnar came out on top at Night of Champions.
  • Logan Paul vs. Ricochet
After clashing in the Money in the Bank ladder match, Logan Paul and Richochet will face off at SummerSlam.
  • Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler
Former tag team champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will meet in a grudge match after their friendship was blown apart at Money in the Bank.
  • Battle Royal
The first-ever SummerSlam Battle Royal will see wrestlers look to throw their rivals over the top rope to eliminate them. LA Knight and Sheamus look set to take part.
