Leeds Rhinos prop Peacock (pictured) was named an MBE and Risman, also a recent past president of the RFL, an OBE on the honours list.
RFL chairman Richard Lewis said: "On behalf of everyone involved in rugby league I would like to congratulate Bev and Jamie on their deserved recognition in the New Year Honours list."
Peacock, 34, is the most successful player in Super League history having won seven titles during a top-flight career which began at Bradford in 1999.
Risman, 74, won five caps for Great Britain after representing England and the Lions in rugby union and has since played significant roles in rugby league development.
Lewis added:"Bev is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced people in the rugby league world, someone who has worked tirelessly for many years to introduce young people to the sport and I can't think of anyone more deserving of an OBE.
"Jamie has led England with distinction and as the consummate professional is a role model for every aspiring young Super League player."
Leeds-born Peacock, who won the coveted Man of Steel award in 2003 and joined the Rhinos in 2006, has captained the national side in its guise as either Great Britain or England for six years.
Risman, born in Salford, is the son of one of the game's all-time greats in Gus Risman.
After excelling in union, touring with the British and Irish Lions in 1959, he followed his father's footsteps into league by turning professional with Leigh. He later played for Leeds and in the four decades since his retirement has worked as an administrator, most notably in London and with Student Rugby League.
