Huddersfield were dominant at their Galpharm Stadium home as Castleford coach Ian Millward made a disappointing return to the touchline.
It was Millward's first appearance since taking a month off on compassionate leave but he was forced to watch as his side were comprehensively beaten.
The Giants ran in eight tries, Luke George scoring three of them to move onto nine in just six matches this season.
Michael Lawrence, Larne Patrick, Greg Eden, Kevin Brown and Joe Wardle were also on the scoresheet.
Nick Youngquest crossed the line for the visitors in nothing more than a consolation.
In Salford, the Reds were crushed by Leeds, who recorded their fourth straight league win.
Kevin Sinfield set a new club record by scoring a try and kicking eight goals from 10 attempts to pass Lewis Jones's tally of 2,920 points for Leeds.
The Rhinos actually fell behind to a Vinnie Anderson try early on but roared back to lead 32-4 at the break with Zak Hardaker scoring a hat-trick.
Burrow, Liam Hood, Brett Delaney, Danny McGuire, Carl Ablett and Kallum Watkins were also on the scoresheet for Leeds while Luke Patten and Gareth Owen crossed for Salford.
